If you watch interviews she talks in a normal voice and seems really calm.

OLD THREAD, BUT BUMP BECAUSE I HONESTLY LOVE JOANNA NEWSOM AND WAS LINKED TO THIS THREAD.

But yeah, she's actually a genuinely nice person from the interviews I've seen of her.

big fan here, ive seen her live twice, once with a full orchestra and once by herself., both jawdropping shows.
Her voice can be a bit hit and miss but then Neil Young and Wayne Coyne arnt the most in tune vocalists you will ever hear and jesus Kim Gordons flat voice can get on my tits sometime:

Never really got into her music though.

I had friends trying to get me into here for a loooong time and I could never do it. Then one day it was the right day, right time, and right song and now I absolutely adore her.

I like this. I like the song in the OP. I like the way she sings a HELL of as lot better then the crap they put on the radio! I would rather listen to this all day then one minuet of Fun.:
