Things just went nutty at the end. Sad that it played out that way.

I wanted Eric to quit his job and pedal full-time and have it all work out.

It's not my business, and this is purely speculative, but I think he might have under-priced himself out of the pedal business.

Very possible. My Singing Tree Lite was, what, $80?

FOR A SMALL RUN TRUE BYPASS LOW/MEDIUM GAIN OVERDRIVE. That's like tailor made for triple digit pricing.

WE MISSS YOU MELLOWTONE.

Mellowtone created a big enough hype that it caught my attention even after all things went to hell. Theres some mellowtones out there id still love to try. I know he screwed over some people but if he came back with a sincere apology and wanted to build again, I'd love that. Some of you probably wouldnt like it but I want more mellowtones on my board.

I saw in another thread homie got his supachan after 2 years of waiting...so he built that recently? Might he be returning or just fulfilling the orders he never sent out?

Given the amount of time between when I got mine and univalve got his it's looking a lot like the latter.

he took pre-orders for 48 supachans. there were multiple prices, pay what you can, but even the most expensive was under $100. he basically overextended himself. too many pedals, too little money, too little time.

he got so far behind schedule, he stopped responding to the forum and emails and basically disappeared.

I got my pedal 1 year after I pre-ordered. some people weren't so lucky.

He was in school; also involved in skating and photography. It never seemed like pedals were his main thing. I thought Mellowtone was just a fun side project he did. Simple, groovy-sounding circuits that were cheap and easy to put together. It's too bad he couldn't make it last. And too bad nobody else has picked up where he left off.

you'd be hard pressed to find someone on this forum who doesn't miss Mellowtone.
and yeah, I think the Wolf cpu was 149 at its most expensive, drastically underpriced for how amazing it was. Same with the Singing Tree, party favors were, what, like 80? I would've paid 100=120 a piece gladly for the kind of tones in those boxes.
chans, stamp amp, all of them, WAY underpriced. I don't know how many times a handful of us said it.

..yeah I miss Eric and Mellowtone

I have to say, I really miss Mellowtone too. Still have a few Of Eric's pedals in the collection and they really are nice sounding circuits (singing tree, CC/DC, Melxowtone 2). Really wish things hadn't ended the way they did. I still live in hope that someone will
"reissue" the Wizard Fountain some day. Regret not grabbing one when I had the chance.

Eric released the schematic for that one, either build it yourself or ask somebody around here like those Shark Tankers to build you one.
