i graduated hs in 2009. spent one year at college, now i'm back home for a few reasons. 1, i was planning on transferring from that school in the first place and 2, this september marked my dad's second back surgery and my mom's first neck surgery. crippled parents and fucked economy means i get to live at home, go to cc for $2000 a semester instead of a real school for $12k a year, but hopefully i'll get back to my life next year.

yay?

:erm: I do...

I pay a third of all expenses.

Why? Basically we are all musicians and we end up working on stuff a lot together, like helping to produce and record each other stuff and work [music and little video] on outside work in the home studio we run. A big enough space was needed i.e. a big good sounding room for better sound and usage. Nice thing is the house is sort'a split in two by the really big room/studio. Not everyone might understand why this to us was a good idea and works out well but it does for now. Also noise.. my dad is a drummer... who spent over 30 years playing without his drums going though the PA...

I'm 36
I move to an appartment when I was 18.
I'm tired of the appartment (small 2 1/2)... cannot play loud (need a house).

Can you write stuff off (taxes) with the home studio?

i moved out of my parents' house when i was 17 and never looked back. i'm probably even older than jrmy, and thus moving back home isn't an option since both parents passed away years ago.

Not at the moment. If it "made" money ;) you would have to pay taxes on that along with the write off... We have given thought to starting up a LLC though in the future :idk:

Wanted to move out at 15, but couldn't afford it until I was 19 at which point I bought an apartment and got out. The fact that I barely had any money left over the first two years didn't matter, I was just glad to be out on my own.

My bro lived with my parents until well into his 20s. I left tire marks leaving when I was 18 to go to college. I love my parents, but wanted to be on my own so fucking badly. Lived with college buddies until I met my wife. Now I'm like jrmy, an old fart with wife + kid + pets + mortgage.

Yeah, I'm graduating with degrees in both political science and economics, and I'm dying to move out. Unfortunately it's not just living with my mom, it's living in this crazy fucking state. I want to get as far away as possible.

I'm going to graduate school, because there aren't any good jobs for someone who has a bs in political economy, either this fall or in a year from now, stupid registration deadlines. There's no way I'm staying in Utah to finish my education.

 People who haven't done couchsurfing miss a lot of the lessons every day life has to offer. :thumb:

I'm 36, living with wife, three kids (1,2, and 7yrs), a turtle (18yrs), and a mortgage on my soul plus a steady career in a good University library, supposedly doing a Masters thesis at the same time, and running a band project or two...yeah, heading for a an early heart attack and /or a nervous breakdown

Well, as for me..I'm the youngest of a family of four..other three siblings are married and have their own places. I graduated college this past May, still living at home..(lived at home all through college, often wish I had stayed in a dorm..but circumstances beyond my control made that an unlikely situation...) :idk: Don't really see things changing in the forseeable future, though I admit that I haven't tried too hard to make things change..
