I would say no.

Genetically, our gender is determined simply by which sperm fertilizes the egg. If the sperm that fertilizes the egg has a Y chromosome, then you are a male from the get-go, at least genetically speaking.

The common saying that we all start out female and require a certain hormone being released to become male is a misunderstanding. All embryos have structures that can develop into both ovaries and testes. Ovaries will automatically form unless two specific hormones are released at about the 6-8 week period of pregnancy. If they are released, then you get testes instead.

So I guess it depends on how you define gender.

you could put a nipple on a hot dog and id stare at it from across the room and eventually buy it a drink.

I think that's the opposite of what I said. Unless you think that having ovaries means you're female, and that having testes means you're a male. I think there's quite a few people we know that would dispute that.
