I am very pro 2nd amendment (written to protect the citizens for the government not to create a national guard btw).
I own guns. I taught my children to shoot as soon as they were old enough.
If every one were armed there would probably be less crime.
If the courts actually sentenced criminals there would also probably be less crime.
And because you asked for it.

We have a long gun registry in effect, here in Canada (actually, I don't know if it's the whole country but it's definitely in Ontario). Apparently, it's not cheap. Really though, I'd rather not have a gun at all. To my mind, having one will only invite trouble. If positivity begets positivity and negativity begets negativity, then violence begets violence and guns beget guns.

it just never bugged me

Yet put me out in the country

Thems people scare the shit out of me.
I can attest to that. My nearest neighbors are over a mile away, and they just happen to be crazy, rural, drug-dealing Vietnam vets and hobos. It's a strange shanty town, and they siphon gas out our gas tanks, steal things that aren't locked up, and are voyeurs. I've met some of them in person before (estimates of how many people live there range from 2 to 30) and they were creepy as fuck. They'll call us up sometimes to tell us creepy stories of their voyeurish ways and to invite me to go hunting
I've never lived in a city, but I'm still scared to go home at night.

My town has gone to shit recently too. I was never in the greatest town 3 square miles 64 thousand people next to Newark, Jersey City, Staten Island, and NYC. But i've never been worried about walking around town too late but in the past few weeks one of my best friends buddies was walking home from a party around 2 a.m and him and two others were robbed. and during the incident he was grabbed in a headlock by one of the people robbing them and shot in the head. He was on life support for a few days and lost the fight this past weekend. This past weekend 2 other people I know were robbed at gunpoint for a few bucks. I dont see what goes through someones mind when they decide to go that big for a few dollars and maybe a cell phone. The one good thing is that they caught the kid who murdered my friends friend and is facing murder, aggravated assault and a few other charges and being held on 750,000 cash only bail. Most sickening part is that he is an 18 year old kid.

Dude just DON'T let anyone know you have gear or something valuable inside... DON'T let strangers even see your gear or let them hear you playing... All my gear was stolen once in a rough hood and I never saw it again... I miss my Superfuzz...
