i've had it for over a year and loved it at first (it plays wonderfully) but it didn't record well for me at the time, so i put it away and sorta forgot about it. since then, i've busted it out and absolutely love it in a live situation. it handles volume like no other semi i've played. extremely light, way way light....almost too light.

I had a Virage for a while, but sent it back for a couple of reasons - a slightly twisted neck (it arrived "fully" strung, but the 1st and 2nd strings were off their nut slots) and soon, the selector toggle cut in and out randomly. But I bought it in the first place for all the right reasons, as I'm sure you did. I really wanted to keep it, but the notes fretting out on one side of slightly twisted neck and not on the other was too much too handle. I bought this color, but alas, it hath found new digs!

I hope yours is super. The features and specs sure look awesome.

damn that really sucks... i haven't had a problem with mine at all. it freaks me out that instruments make it out the door in that condition. and it would seem they would be kicking down your door to make it right. :idk:

Right, what's the deal with that? It could only be 1 of 2 things: they either didn't look over the guitar whatsoever before shipping, OR they are just hoping for someones ignorance & that is won't be sent back.

Well, I bought it from an etailer. I am pretty sure I was not the first to receive this guitar only to send it back. I think that some major etailers send out items that have already been returned (some so obviously scratched that it's ridiculous), as new. They might have looked it over for a repack, but paid no attention to the actual complaints about it. I, too believe that some etailers are counting on buyer's ignorance.

MF graciously took it back, but with no meaningful apology. I don't mind so much when I buy pedals from TF or PGS because people who buy there almost always return pedals in perfect condition/like new. And TF and PGS will bend over backwards to help you. They and their direct competitors are truly conscientious about making things right for things that are actually wrong.

More and more I am thinking that it's never a good idea to buy a new guitar without playing it first. I got lucky with a couple of gems, but I've returned 3 guitars in the last year due to these types of issues.

PS I did hear some good things about the Hagstrom Viking and the Schecter Corsiar. Apparently they are both well built "players guitars." So off to a brick and mortar store to play some, if I can find some.

I have the exact same one... but.. some dumbass broke the head off and so I raped it and all that remains is just the body and neck. I wanted to convert it into a cool looking clock but never found the time to do so....

Anyways- here is my piece of crap (but it's semi hollow so it still counts! :poke: )

That's a lovely guitar. I'd like a cherry 335 to sit next to the sunburst. :thumb:
