I was actually hoping to get Muddy to post and/or repost all the DIY jobs he's done.

I won't lie; I could do a search,...if I could be bothered. ;)

Do eet.

I noticed an LTD Distressed P-Bass copy at a pawnshop that I could likely pickup for 2 bills. I'm in need of a passive 4 string to potentially mod and I'm seriously considering. Not sure how I feel on the Relic'd look, or it being Vietnamese made...but it played and sounded good.

Thoughts?

Hmm... well I was never a fan of their basses. ESP is one of those companies (similar to Jackson) where they mostly focus on guitars and just throw in a few half-assed basses to keep us happy.

If it plays and feels good, go for it if the price is right. I have an old Dean piece of shit that I modded and use for midnight-drunken-smash the walls absurdity.

I have one of those ESP relics - though mine is a spendy Japanese number - and it's a disgustingly good bass.
no clue about the Ho Chi Minh basses, though.

Yeah I haz a 80's ESP neck on my jazzbass and it is just awesome, I'd say the best fender type 4-strang neck ever :thumb:
