I keep reading the $22 price tag... Can you please send me the link for a MT-2 at that price, Bossmann?

There's one for $30 on GC's used site right now.

$30 + tax + shipping... Still cheap but > $22.

Idk. Making a price comparison between used Boss pedal and new Mantic pedal seems a bit disengenuous/sensational to me.

When you find it for $22 you're in the Metal Zone.

This.
Unless that Vitriol is one of those pedals you never see at a lower price new or used, the strymon/ct5 effect.

Very easy. Go to reverb and make on offer on the dozens listed at $30-$35. That's what I did and got one for $22.

Right. I will try to do that with the Vitriol as well and see how cheap I can get it, then you can put a price tag back to the title.

Fair enough. OK, the comparison should be between a $22 dollar pedal and a $170 dollar pedal. $170 is what I got when I sold the 2nd of my two Mantics. It's actually one of the very few boutiques that kept a lot of its value. I regularly sell other boutiques for 1/3 to a little under 1/2 of the new price,, despite the "pump and dump" accusation made by my everloving TB fan club.

Word. The sound comparison is very interesting, for sure. Do you find that they match up across the dials or is it more of a "If you want to cop this very specific sound, the Metal zone does it," thing? Forgive me if you've answered this.

Good question and I'm happy to actually respond to one that talks about the pedals..........
Short answer is yes. They match up very closely actually. The lowest gain range on each sound virtually identical and the knob tapers are almost exact too. The MT-2 has an overall more clear tone though due to the mids, but I can cut them to match the mess mid-heavy Mantic. I think overall the Mantic has slightly more overall "beef" to the sound, but the MT-2 is clearer overall. Basically I am considering the two interchangable now, with the advantage given to the MT-2 for it's slightly smaller size.
