The second I saw the title I knew this would be expensive. I didn't think it would be $1800 though

Yeah, those have been selling in the UK since at least last year. SoundGas generally only deals in vintage stuff with fairly inflated prices and modern stuff that's often a bit above market as well. I saw them hyping it up in their Instagram feed a while back, with a bunch of shitheel, London-scene types talking about how they can't live without the floppy. Whatever.

Pretty sure there's a thread in here somewhere where everyone's laughing about it.

Hungry Robot is preparing a 2-preset, octave generator (up/down, dry/wet settings). Artwork is unfinished, but he's aiming at $197 for July/August. It's called the Monastery (guessing a play off organs/cathedrals, or is it referencing the place where our lizard overlords are groomed?).

Lizard overlords.

Saw the email go out. Pretty sweet in concept. Want to hear it.

I might get that so I can concentrate on tasty weird effects rather than essentials. :snax:

Friedman has a new power unit with 10 isolated ports at 350ma each, that's starting to hit dealers (think it was announced in February). It's slightly more affordable and has better financing options, for those in the US ($219 vs $249), than the Strymon Zuma, which has 9 outlets at 500ma (2 ports adjustable to 12v/18v). If you aren't going to be powering Eventide/Strymon pedals, this might be a solid alternative.

More specs and notes can be found on the dealer listings.

Big news for Zoom MS-70 owners (I have 2 of them ;) ). This was already one of the coolest budget pedals ever made, but with 51 new effects, it becomes an even cooler tool. Until this update, I had honestly forgotten these even had USB ports, and for $120 I certainly wasn't expecting much in the way of future updates  ---certainly not a huge expansion like this.

(new banks are starred) https://www.zoom-na.com/sites/default/f ... ist_v2.pdf

(firmware link) https://www.zoom-na.com/products/guitar ... #downloads
Zoom has released a major firmware update for their MultiStomp MS-70CDR multi-effects pedal.

The MultiStomp MS-70CDR is designed as a guitar effects pedal, but is popular with synthesists because it provides a wide range of Reverb, Delay, Chorus and Dynamics effects in a small, affordable package.

MultiStomp MS-70CDR firmware 2.0 adds 51 new effects, in addition to the pedal’s existing 86 effects. The new firmware adds classic effects like Tremolo, Slicer, Octaver, Pitch Shifter, Slow Attack, Noise Gate, Exciter, and Envelope Filter. There’s also a compressor and some advanced effects such as Lo-Fi, Synthesizer and Organ simulation.

It looks like they just added the MS50 effects. This is after adding the MS70 effects to the MS50 so it looks like they might be functionally identical now?

Looking at the two PDF files, there's a lot of overlap now, but they're not interchangeable. I don't think the MS70 got any of the amp models found in the Fifty series. Since I don't own the MS50, I didn't realize so many of these modulation banks were already available in the sibling models. Just glancing over it, the MS70 got EQs, compressors, several tremolo/modulation effects, but no new reverb/delay algorithms. I've got a Tech 21 Leeds (Hiwatt) for direct recordings, so the '50 is a bit redundant for me personally. If the sounds in the MS50 are anything like those in the '70, though, I imagine it's a fairly useful pedal for the price.
