And yeah Vid, love that slope... using the random voltage into it, so chewy. I'm gonna try that latest fave...

Just posting this for anyone that may be interested in learning how to use modular synths... super easy and fun way to learn the eurorack world (and/or kill time at work)
also just fun if you want to continue learning or trying out quick patches or ideas right from your computer.... pretty sweet.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Went to Switched On in Austin yesterday and sat in front of their largely Make Noise & Mutable rack for four hours. I think I am ready to make the Eurodive. There are just so many more modules I want to try than would fit in a 6U 104HP case, but I don't wanna buy some monstrously large case either. I'm conflicted

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Keep going back and playing with stuff as much as you can and deduce yat you like about all the designs you have available to you. That will help you with some of the preference you have about workflow and module design. Go small, you can always buy another case if you really need it, and Im also in the camp of thinking limitations can inspire creativity.baremountain wrote:Went to Switched On in Austin yesterday and sat in front of their largely Make Noise & Mutable rack for four hours. Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So I've got an oscillator question. I've already got an 0-coast and I intend fully to integrate that with my modular rig, so I'll already have an osc w tons of options for timbre & all that and a run of basic utility functions.
I liked the DPO from Make Noise, but I'm not too sure how to make the FM & all that sound tuned and musical - is that easy/possible?
Otherwise, what other oscs would y'all recommend for complex waveshapes with tons of good harmonic content? I've got the Mangrove from Mannequins in my modulargrid right now, but I'm open to other suggestions. Definitely more into ambient and west coast stuff/timbral exploration than noise/strong leads.
Also, here's my working plan for my first skiff. Please roast away. Tell me what I need because you bet I didn't think of everything. Immediately I notice I forgot to include a Wobblebug, I'm not 100% sold on the Pressure Points and Maths being my sequencers & env/function generators but idk where else to start, and I might get a Cold Mac to go with the Mangrove & Three Sisters?? Idk, what do y'all think? Maybe needs a Rosie or another proper output module too?
