They're "metalcore" amps from the mid 00's that died off from poor reaction to quality control complaints, and the fact that they gave away more amps to endorsee's than they sold.

came out during the early-mid 00's
basically went for the total metal amp route. actually sounded pretty good I have the prophecy which is a 100w SS and I was more than impressed. I actually got one of the Divinities in a week later and it was toast so I sent it back. so I'm giving it another shot with a different seller.

Madison went out of business but I think they are trying to restart it but looks like they are only going from the last incarnation of the 100w tube divinity. the divinity III.. the samples I've heard of them I didn't like all that much.

I remember seeing Behemoth touring with Suffocation and they actually used Madisons. it was either Madison or Legacy cause they both have a damn sword in their logo. Didn't see too many metalcore bands using them.

I will say that I hate the navigation on their website.

I really hate AtTheGates-core. It felt like that was the only kind of heavy music coming out of New England like a decade ago. At least the only kind of heavy music that anyone was listening to.

The thing I hate more about metalcore is that everyone immediately thinks of melodic at the gates rip off metalcore. which yea there is a glut of it. but there is tons of great metalcore that sounds nothing like that. Botch is considered metalcore, Coalesce is considered metalcore.

their webside is horseshit. but ancient is spot on about their responses to customer complaints. cause I did my research before dropping the change on both. I only spent 200 on that madison.

Their tone is actually pretty good, I've only seen one in person and only had a couple minutes with it but it did sound pretty good.

The reason they went under originally from what I heard / read is based off of what SLK said, the first one he got was inop. They had an astronomical failure rate and wouldn't pay for warranty repairs and blamed it on the musicians not knowing how to maintain tube amps.... They also were only limitedly available and not available at many if any retail stores, combine that with the amount of money they spent selling the amps at cost (usually around 2-300$) to endorsee's they just couldnt maintain any kind of profit. It's a shame as they had good ideas and a decent aesthetic, the tone isn't my current flavor (a tighter mesa or 5150 [like having a tubescreamer in front] depending on the model) but for amp gain they really aren't bad.

I agree there is definitely alot of "metalcore" music that is good and doesn't include obvious AtG influences.

Yeah there's the three or four bands that put albums out with HydraHead... and then there's everyone else.

Be careful running the Divinity for long periods of time at high volumes. The board will crack and you'll maybe have some parts. Happened to two different friends with those. For 200, with care, it'll be a cool-as-fuck recording amp, but I'd never use one for tours or even gigging.

When is the Enforcer getting to you? Stoked you were able to snag that!
