Rule book says it qualified as an exception on all available levels:
1) meat is okay when drunk
2) if someone offers you food eat it
3) on holiday then whatever

And yes I did sleep on the couch all nights. It just happened, I don't know

That should be fairly feasible for most folks, I think -- take off Friday and Monday?
