Posting under false pretenses now?
This guy just ruined; or at the very least created a very robust roadblock to growing his company.
Way to go dude.

peaceguitar wrote:Man, the stuff I'm seeing on here is blowing my mind. You are all so wrong about that company and the dudes behind it. It's actually making my heart sad. This is a prime example of how the internet can quickly lead a person to reading and believing lies that are spread by smooth-talkers and their friends who would back them up whether they're full of shit or golden truth. I support Luck Duck Pedals and wish other people would see how blown out of proportion (and more importantly- distorted and one-sided) this is before deciding that they don't.
Also, for such a premature company to get a ton of negative/false shit written and passed around the internet over (for all you know) their first and only "mistake", is probably more damaging (more-so in the short-run, but still) than you might think. I saw the YT video, and stumbled on here pretty easily. While I do think most of you are here cuz you're simply bored, it does seem like a few of you know a thing or two about what you're talkin about. My point to that is, all of you knowing how a small company who is too young to have a lot of good stuff out there about them could indeed be hurt by an equal or greater, and truly unfair, amount of negative stuff- you sure are quick to side with the only perspective of this thing that's being put out there. Which is undeniably natural- I mean you're all fond of each other it seems, and you know each other on here, and it feels nice to band together and support your friend who is supposedly being treated poorly, by what you are all describing as an evil monster who barely deserves to live, much less be good at building unique effects and attempting to be a successful small business in an ever-growing market. But I mean c'mon. This is more than likely a first and completely isolated incident, that you are obviously only hearing one side of. I've seen a few people say stuff in defense of them on the video, and maybe one or two on here. But you don't see anyone who actually knows both sides say anything, so they're seemingly defenseless, and that's never a fair fight.
And from reading the way you were all so quick to attack this company, I wasn't even surprised to see that once Behndy posted about what seemed like a pretty damn good resolution, you still couldn't drop your pride and admit that maybe you were a little quick to judge them. Instead you justify your previous arguments/"points" by saying, oh it's just cuz yer so "popular" and they're so afraid of you. It's like, get over your damn selves. Yea, maybe any bad exposure IS hurtful to a small company, I mean that's not rocket science. What happened to grace, and trying to see the good in people/support people rather than being the first to try and destroy something over what appears to be a very human (as I think someone else said on here) mistake.
Again, mind-blown by the way everyone on here was so quick to bash Luck Duck Pedals. It actually makes me sad.
(Also, I know I'm gonna get a tonnnn of negative responses to this because I'm obviously the only one here who isn't "friends" with behndy, --hence, the one-sidedness that's present on this thread-- but whatever, I don't have anything else to say, I kinda sat back for a while not wanting to jump on here for that reason, but I want anyone who stumbles on this to at least have the thought that this is definitely not the best method of deciding who to support or not).
MANAGEMENT EDIT, added 5/26:
This appears to be Luck Duck using an alt, posing as a satisfied customer, to defend his attempt to rip off an ILFer.

fuck me. so much in there. so.... much... wrongness.
oof.

his email asking me to remove things -
"Hey Behndy,
I know your probably tired of hearing from me by now and I'm sorry for all the emails, but I just wanted to address one more thing...
As you know, I'm a very small company and because of that fact, my reputation and the way that people view my company is extremely important. This whole issue started as a bad mis-understanding/mistake on my part, but turned into an emotionally charged one because of it... and I just wanted to extend my apologies again and tell you personally that this is not the way I normally do business and I am not out to cheat/scam people or treat them badly, and I want more than anything for people to be satisfied w/ my pedals and am certainly willing to "go the extra mile" to accomplish that.
So that being said, at this point in the game any negative feedback, reviews, and "trash talk" on forums, youtube, ect., will definitely hurt my company, my sales, and my livelihood as a builder. So, without bothering you any further, I just wanted to personally ask you, if at all possible, you could take down any videos, forum threads, ect. regarding this issue. If you could do that, I would really appreciate it, and thanks in advance for anything you can do to help let this issue die down."
YOU WERE GETTING WHAT YOU ASKED FOR.
The obvious shill account was already fishy without the IP matching, but all the more damning now that it's out there; as is the rhetoric originating from it.
I think it's important to preserve any evidence and record of factually underhanded, insincere and/or flaky actions taken by a merchant or contractor.
Especially anyone who would go so far as to attempt *sweeping the dirt under the rug* after displaying questionable ethics; under guise of concern for the detriment of reputation, while oblivious that their own actions are what's most damaging and counterproductive to keeping up appearances.
Name-calling, emotional fluff and fallacy are inconsequential; you are what you do...and one cannot serve themselves with a defamation lawsuit...
In any event, what do I know...I'm just an uninformed observer...but one who is fresh out of sympathy for condescending and deceitful characters who display a complete lack of self-awareness and/or concern for anyone other than themselves.

Sorry for all the troubles, Behndy.
Not knowing you well I figured I'd just give some support so I don't feel bad for lurking.
That fake email... I know it's really mean to say in the case that it's not right, but it feels like there's a diagnose involved. At least drunk or in a really emotional state. Maybe edited and re-edited too many times? Like spam, just a bunch of arguments and statements thrown together by hasty code. Fascinating! Any philosophy alumni that could have a go at it? Would love to see it analysed
