Holy shit guys. I had a fucking great workout today. Ive been mentally struggling to get back up to 185lbs on a 5x5 Squat. I had failed 2 times close to the last sets. So i had de-loaded and started back up. Well i think i developed this mental block. It was this breaking point where i "knew" that I just couldnt push that weight up any more. This was that same switch that stopped me from doing a whole 185 lbs 5x5. Well today during the last rep at the last set i hit that fucking mental "i cant" breaking point again at the hardest point in the lift....and for the first time i reached down further and pushed harder than I have ever attempted to in my life and i fucking DID NO FAIL. It was only at 180lbs but next up is 185lbs and im going to kick it in the ass.
I Honestly just cannot put into words how i felt during and specially afterwards. Ive never experienced anything like that in my life.

It was almost like this! hahahahaha :!!!: :!!!: :!!!: :!!!: :!!!: :!!!: :!!!:

Nice work man! Your Hulk legs cometh. This 5x5 stuff ain't no joke. I'm going to stick with it for a couple months and see how it goes. I see squats being my biggest nemesis...160# today on sore legs and it HURT.

I turn 40 tomorrow. Fuck that shit in the A hole.

Okay lifting class today.

The Good: Hang Snatched 135#, a bit ugly but that is a a 1RM PR. 6 x 2 Front Squats at #185. Also did 2 reps at 205. Squat Cleaned 155# 3 times.

The Bad: Shoulder pain when I split jerk so I only did 3 and then just worked on cleans.

Not sure have not want to anyway in a few days. Quite worried about it given the competition that's coming up in about three weeks

only bummer is that I need to train for this comp. There are 3 WODs, 1 is 1RM Snatch, 1 is Hang Cleans, Dead Lifts, and Overheads (your choice), and 1 is Wall Balls, KB Swings, and Box Jumps. Tonight I did go to comp training and spent 1 hr going for a 1RM snatch then left before they did a workout with push press to give my shoulder a rest. So far my shoulders felt okay tonight but the pain would have been on if I did push press. In good news I did PR my snatch, threw up #155 3 times. 165# still elusive.

the more the merrier. My goal will be to get ~185# in snatch, since that is my body weight.

aching for some egg and bacon.

i'll just have to get even stronger at the shoulder press if i'm gonna keep this up.

yea man do it!

My good friend and amateur boxer at the gym on Friday says I've improved. I'm moving more, blocking better and don't stop for breaks during the workout except for the allocated ones that everyone takes. My lateral muscles in my back are sore after each session, as are my legs from the squats and constantly being on my toes, so I must be doing something right. I'm still injuring myself every now and again during sparring, but nothing major. I feel like I'm also punching harder. Still at 13.2 stone, but my diet hasn't been great the last two weeks. I'll have to get back into a good routine. I'm closer to getting my own home boxing-inspired gym.

My left swing is really shitty. My shoulder starts really getting tired after half an hour of boxing so it's a lot weaker than my right. I can barely lift the arm, let alone punch with any weight. It's basically just for protection and for light jabs at that point (TWSS), just to put the opponent off guard.
