That's awesome. I was on the verge of picking up an early Super Bass but ended up finding a different amp in the end.
it plays like a gibson...kind of like an SG...but has more snap to it. The guitar itself is really well balanced and sounds big...i think the pick ups are amazing (Black Winters). I havent measured anything but, the neck feels the same length as gibson, but the distance from the bottom of the neck to the bridge seems a bit more...and the also the stop tail seems more set back than normal gibsons too...like i say, havent measured it, but it just feels like it adds a bit more snappy-ness to the feel of the strings.AngryGoldfish wrote:How does the guitar play, Sam?
The neck felt identical to my SG standard, but the maple wood gives it that snap your hearing. The neck length and distance from the end of the neck to the bridge are the same as gibsons, but like you observed the stop tail is a bit further back from the bridge than gibson usually does.samzadgan wrote:it plays like a gibson...kind of like an SG...but has more snap to it. It has quickly become my number 1.
ok that all makes sense...i have to admit, i was a bit weary of the bolt-on neck, as I have this irrational thing about set necks and sustain and fat tone...but i think this thing sustains like a squaling pig and sounds as big as mother cow with an udder full of milk!Ancient Astronaught wrote:The neck felt identical to my SG standard, but the maple wood gives it that snap your hearing. Patiently awaiting your NGD. Interested to see what you've decided on.chillerthanmost wrote:That's awesome. I was on the verge of picking up an early Super Bass but ended up finding a different amp in the end.
As was I when I first ordered it but after receiving it I came to the exact same conclusion as you. It's so light for how thick it sounds too. You'd think it weighs as much as an LP but i thought it was lighter than my SG.samzadgan wrote:ok that all makes sense...i have to admit, i was a bit weary of the bolt-on neck, as I have this irrational thing about set necks and sustain and fat tone...but i think this thing sustains like a squaling pig and sounds as big as mother cow with an udder full of milk!Ancient Astronaught wrote:The neck felt identical to my SG standard, but the maple wood gives it that snap your hearing.
