Got a deal brewing for a Beta Bass w/205 cab stack for $550. Picking it up later today

You might not use it but you will most likely need it. IF the beta's are anything like the old concert's than the footswitch is required to access certain things such as distortion / reverb and sometimes even channel switching as they have no switches on the head its self.LOCOPELAND wrote:Yeah, I thought it looked a little more like a 70's Concert footswitch. We'll see. I probably won't even use it, tbh.
The foot switch is not needed to use any of the features on the amp aside from channel switching. Being able to switch channels is nice though, you can run A, B, or both at once (ruling!). Also, the amp has 3 effects loops, one for each channel and one master loop. So if you want to switch on a bunch of effects at once you can do that by switching channels.Ancient Astronaught wrote:You might not use it but you will most likely need it. The resale value on those switches is pretty good. And if you ever felt like you wanted to be able to switch channels again you could always buy an ABY switch and use that in front of the amp (since there is no verb anyway).LOCOPELAND wrote:Yeah, the reverb is what threw me off and thought that it wasn't OG with the amp. If what you say is true, then I probably won't ever need it and could probably sell it. I've already got a friend jocking me for it haha. I'll be bi-amping with another beta 205/plush 1060s. Should be beastly.
Okay awesome, that's why I put that IF in my comment cause I know with the concert lead's / bass's you need the footswitch to at least turn on the distortion as there was no way to do it on the actual head but I wasn't sure how these were wired.John Matrix wrote:The foot switch is not needed to use any of the features on the amp aside from channel switching. It is kinda weird that there are 3 buttons since the 3rd button is reverb, and the Beta Bass has no reverb.
