Yes exactly. And really that all anyone needs to say. :thumb:
I don't agree it's being a social justice warriorism, it's just having a little respect for others [and yourself] :thumb:

If you really believe this, you'd better serve your point by not spewing callous bullshit like...
rustywire wrote:Agreed. Funny how that works...although it also sounds like she's the kind of person you 'forget' to invite when there's a party or anything fun planned.
It doesn't take any reduction to pull a pretty clear message out of that. Being excellent to each other requires acknowledging context and putting some effort into empathizing with people who may have dramatically different life experiences from you.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove with that video either. There are bullies across the political spectrum. The fact that some of them are involved with social justice neither diminishes the fact that most of them are not nor holds any relevance to a case where several women recognized a social injustice and addressed it with civility. Or are you claiming that their supporters on ILF are the mob of bullies? I just don't understand what you think anyone has done in this situation that comes across as "lip service". This all started with a few women taking action to help a company discover how to be more excellent to people.

I wouldn't call writing a couple tweets "taking action" but ok.

That's the thing, this is all happening on twitter, the garbage dump of opinions in many ways.

I was talking about the petition. I've never used Twitter, but it certainly seems like a dumpster fire.

Oh yeah the I forgot the petition, which of course is an alright way to voice your opinion to a company.

I'm not on twitter either, but I do sometimes check out the tweetstorms around controversial topics. And it is usually a lot of stupidly extreme opinions, much trolling, with maybe a few neutral, seemingly unbiased tweets in between. I guess twitter is a lot more than that potentially, but it's the drama that gets attention and by then the discussion has devolved into something real nasty or pointless to the original topic, before dying off when the next thing to opine about appears.

Please keep me out of your halting, tentative attempts at humour.

Doesn't offend me exactly, but a pretty stupid marketing move on TC's part, and they were right to pull it to protect their brand. It's needlessly annoying. Maybe the biggest issue is the specific word PUSSY because Steel Panther could have called it 87 other things and still accomplished an on-brand joke.

BANANA HAMMOCK
TRAMP STAMP
Whatever, I'm not a writer, I'm sure there are better ideas.

I might not take the time to sign this petition myself, but I understand why women would be annoyed enough to sign it, and if I had a 12 year old daughter, I wouldn't buy her products with names like "Pussy Melter". And there are tons of 12 year old girls playing guitar out there. This is basically about asking big companies to not do needlessly offensive stuff that antagonizes specific people. Even if you personally don't find it offensive, it shouldn't be a big stretch to understand what the fuss is about. TC is not a fringe company. Don't do needlessly dumb stuff, and nobody will call you out on your dumbness.

Oh, sweet—we could use another perennial manchild.

Anyway, still pages and pages later the essential question being answered over and over here is whether or not women should be offended. Well guess what? Since their experience is not yours, you shouldn’t try to tell them why or why not. And saying that someone who’s angry or hurt is “no fun” or should essentially “lighten up” is just pure garbage behavior.

600 signatures, on the internet...

What an outcry.

And there’s the issue.

We’ve gotten to the point if only a few have an issue, everyone must comply.

Or you’re some kind of an “ist”.
