lol. i'm not super good at this, but not an idiot. is it a complex process?
I have no idea if the Intellijel one will work outside their specific firmware. Only way to tell is to try flashing it in AVR Dudess.
Honestly not that hard:
I don't know what you'd select under Programmer, that one is on you. Maybe USBAsp? Probably that. I select AVRISP mk2 but that's the programmer I use.
Under MCU, I think the 4ms guide says it's an ATmega168. Under Presets select Arduino.
Load the hex file through the Flash area. Select write. Select Force under options (probably don't have to, I always do though) and click Program.

Oh one other thing, you'll most likely have to select what Port the USBAsp is connected to. For some reason, mine always defaults to COM8. You can find what your thing is connected to COM wise through Device Manager (everything (even above) is assuming Windows usage here, should probably have noted that). Otherwise just blast through all the options in Port to try it out. If it can't find the programming device, it might be the wrong port.

cooool. gotcha. had to try different settings with the Metro update too. good to know.
sooooo.... cleaned up most of the dirtier of the two modules.
but theres some rusting -
i mean. i can clean it up a bit more (already got a bunch of filth or rust off), and put a new washer over it. module seems to work find.
should i ask for a partial refund? or just suck it up and ask for pics on older modules from now on?

That's pretty messed up. What kind of conditions are they playing/living in that results in rust on a module?! How do the PCBs look? Do you see any degradation there?
If there's any visual degradation on the PCBs, I'd definitely ask for a partial refund. If they're clean I'd still at least shoot the individual a politely worded PM to voice your displeasure. If they're a decent person, they'll hopefully offer you a partial refund. If they're a dickhead about it, I'd post everything to a dubious transaction thread.

Yeah, I would be really pissed off if I received something like that. Did you pay through Paypal ? If so, you might be able to send that shit back...

the pcb's look fine and dandy. dood said he packed them in a box and didn't check on them before sending them out..... i dunno. there was gunk and hair wrapped around the pot shafts and it did take a fair bit to clean them all but whatever..that part's done.
jia. paid with PayPal. he offered to take them back when i got them, but they seem to work fine and i think i'll just look for replacement panels if i dig them. they were cheap enough that i just don't want to be hassled with looking for another deal.
lol. AND the guy shipped FedEx ground. i mean. fuck. that takes at least a week compared to 2 days if you ship Priority, 3ish if you ship first class. that's just RUDE. his screen name is Lionelfishcher. just not going to ever buy from him again. at least without pictures.
wait. is that pic of Rusty McRusty Pot not showing any more? i see an image telling me to upgrade my account to allow third party hosting. i am NOT paying for that. time to stsrt uploading pics somewhere else i guess?

holy asses of BUTTS. they want $40 a month or $400 a year to allow linked images. fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. that.
and they just did this with no warning. so any BST thread with Photobucket pics is garbaged.
woot. have to move stuff to IMGR or Google and check on FS threads. yayyyyyyy.
or anywhere else to check out for pic hosting?

Just upload to imgur for one shot things like FS posts and whatever. No real reason to have a dedicated upload service/storage anymore.

I've been testing different things in the send/return of the Chronoblob and so far it's very much "yeeeees, I like".
Bastl Cinnamon worked very well, and right now I have a WMD/SSF Ultrafold in there and I can go from kinda clean repeats to absolute noise very quickly

.
I also have some Tim & Eric samples from a Radio Music going into the Ultrafold's external feedback input, with the feedback voltage controlled from an LFO (one channel of Maths). The Chronoblob is just fed a Basimilus Iteritas Alter controlled by a clock source modulated by Peaks in trigger fucking mode.
The result would probably annoy anybody else listening to it but it kinda makes me happy

Hey guys, I know it's not modular, but does anyone know what's up with the deckard's dream pricing? Last I checked they were gonna be $1k for a kit and $5kish built, but now they seem to be considerably cheaper....
http://www.deckardsdream.com/shop
What's up with that? It mentions Japanese Construction on the site which seems like a change, but maybe it was always coming from there, I'm not 100% sure about anything...
But yeah of anyone has any insight, that would be mad

"The total price is $3749 with a free worldwide shipping, the remaining balance of $2550 is to be paid when the product is ready for shipping."
"Total price is $999 with a free worldwide shipping, the remaining balance of $650 to be paid when the product is ready for shipping."
The prices are for pre-orders or something, just the first part of it.

I haven't really been following the Deckard's Dream, but that looks awesome! Way out of any price range I would consider right now though
