how do feel a out the STO vs the Dixie II?
the dixie should be an instabuy in any rack. as a triangle core oscillator it makes great sin waves. But I love how it's a solid & thick VCO without any sort of slop (vs something like the erica varishape that are thick, dirty & sloppy).
With the dixies I like doing is using one waveshape as an amp contour on the other waves (using a vca). [or do it with a uMod (ringmod) for a bipolar vca outcome]
using the square as the envelope for a saw gives you a pqm saw wave :

hee. i am EXCITED. again, mostly for the vocally stuff. i really want to try some percussive envelope things with that? but yeah. so GOOD to have the module, about the same price, but SMALLER.

almost done with Busywork Things for today, so impatient to sit down and wobble around.

i...... think i don't have the expansion cable to connect the Jupiter Storm to the Moons though. it's not a HUGE deal, it just normalizes the JS to the Moonie inputs. but it DOES add a new noise type out as well. so. yeah. WANT.

also, someone buy my e350 Morpho Terra. it's so boss. but the 4 Vox does all the things i want out of it.

also, how much do we care about the condition of older modules? just got in two that i at first thought were beat to fuck, but most of it is tape gunk. there's some rack rash, which i don't super care about because the screws and washers cover it, and two or three scratches, but after cleaning the gunk off it's not too bad.

was a little irked at first because dooder never said anything about damage, but i guess it's not a huge deal after clean up? together they're almost half of what i'd pay new.

moop?

I care but don't care. I'd rather have a brand new module for the used module price, but can't always have it both ways. If things were really off the charts I might send the dude a private message but I'd still live with it if they functioned as expected.

I had one trade on Muffs that really pissed me off because of the state of the QuNexus I got in return for some mint and basically brand new modules. The gunk and dirty was so bad and so sticky that it was basically unusable. I had to take it apart and leave the faceplate soaking for 2 days with intermittent scrubbing and scrapping to get it to a point where it didn't stick to my fingers when I touched it. I don't know what I would have done had I not been able to clean it. It just pissed me off because he didn't even bother to mention it. Maybe it wouldn't have bothered me as much if it was something I got a good deal on, but it was a pretty straight and even valued trade. Anyway, I make sure to ask every time now and won't do business with that individual again.

kinda where i'm at. its a 4ms SCD and BO module, and they're not near as bad as i thought. need a touch of cleaning, and if i love them like i hope i'm going to then i might see about grabbing new plates because it freaks me OUT that they're a liiiiitle different shade.

but still. i sent out stuff CLEAN. or fully detail any not good issues.

.....anybody know if you can flash the chip to upgrade to a V2?

You can. Based off the website you'll need a AVR ISP programmer, and you can flash the hex file using AVRDuddess.

If you aren't comfortable with this, I can to do it for you. If you need your Metropolis updated as well I can do that. I updated mine last weekend to the latest version. (You can tell which version you are on on bootup. If it's the newest firmware it will flash Vr1.30 on the screen right as you turn it on.)
