The Colorsound Fuzz is amazing, it's actually got bass which is crazy for a vintage fuzz design. I think that might have been why Vox didn't go with it. The buzzy bee thing was what fuzz was back then this sounds like all the fixed versions that people are putting out these days by changing output caps and stuff. It's a cool garagey sounding fuzz but way heavy and bassy at the same time. I have to try a meathead at one point, it's meant to be the same circuit.KaosCill8r wrote:How do you like the Colorsound Fuzz Box? I built a clone, couldn't afford the original. Its one of my faves. The circuit is apparently one of the earliest fuzz circuits. Dick Denny, designer of the Vox AC30 amp designed it in the early 60s but Vox in all their wisdom knocked it back. So the story goes.tommasters wrote:

I really like it, put it infront of the dirt so I get more of an Auto-Wah like thing. Sounds the exact same as the big box version.goosekevin wrote:Raaaadkbithecrowing wrote:Hell yesAndrew wrote:

Yeah definitely try a Meathead. They are the same circuit but different. More sustain than the colorsound, but not as fuzzy in my opinion. It sounds more distortion than fuzz. No frying egg decay like the the colorsound.tommasters wrote:The Colorsound Fuzz is amazing, it's actually got bass which is crazy for a vintage fuzz design. Thats exactly what i was going to say...the phase is amazing on it and vibrato is a nice add on, but not why you would get the pedal.monkeydancer wrote:I really like the sound of the vibe on the GO, it's great before fuzz, but I find the control over it is a bit limited. If you want a proper standalone vibe it might not be enough, but it is good.
