As much as I hate the 70s era for guitars that thing is pretty hot. I'm always disappointed when I buy a 70s vintage playability wise

Looks to be legit late 60's, but has some issues (I can give more detail later when not drunk if desired). $750 isn't bad, but I'd be a lot happier at $500-600.

Ok, well obviously a refinish. Neck is so dark that it was maybe refinished as well (or just really grimey

). Headstock decal is partially flaked off at best, possibly a reproduction (which would make sense if the neck was refinished too).
String tree was clearly moved at some point. The tuners likely aren't correct either, as all vintage mustangs I know of had plastic buttons, but Fender did some odd things so maybe they are original. It's hard to tell, but it looks like there might be a headstock repair? Knobs aren't original.
Fret markers kind of look like clay dots to me, which could mean that the neck is actually from an older Duo-Sonic or something. Or it could just be that the pearloid markers have really yellowed, which is a possibility judging from how yellowed the pearloid pickguard is. The neck is clearly the 22.5 scale A width neck, which is rarer on Mustangs, but not everyone's cup of tea. The more I think about it, I think the neck likely is from a pre-cbs Duo-Sonic. That would explain the headstock decal, the Duo-Sonic part has been scraped off.
Cool guitar for sure, but not really a collector's piece. Which to be honest is more my preference anyway.
