yeah i'm on the fence about boost pedals, i'm not looking for anything to replace what I already use and they ARE useful if not inspirational.Chankgeez wrote:I don't really like Tubescreamers or overdrives either.
I do like boost pedal though.

Man, not to keep going on about this Dirgedweller, but the boost in it is SO FAT. It adds some bottom and cuts a little treble. I might need to get the boost as a standalone box.Uncle Grandfather wrote:yeah i'm on the fence about boost pedals, i'm not looking for anything to replace what I already use and they ARE useful if not inspirational.Chankgeez wrote:I don't really like Tubescreamers or overdrives either.

No clue. Ill ask him, cause I'm curious now. It changes the tone of my Fuzzes a little, but in a good way. Other delays I've messed with have added treble, if anything. This is dark and even the repeats are fat. And it gets dirty pretty easily on its own too, which I think has to do with the boost.

It's a LPB-1. It does add a little bit of low end to the mix. I built it to stock specs but I did notice it seemed to give a little 'oomph' to the rest of the chain when I ran stuff into the box

Thanks, skully. Well, neonblack is impressed and I'm always a fan of bass boostin' too.

I've got a vintage ehx lpb-1 plug in, it seems an even boost. Have a vintage Vox treble/bass boost plug in that is pretty great at doing its job and can really put some umph into the lows.Chankgeez wrote:Thanks, skully. Well, neonblack is impressed and I'm always a fan of bass boostin' too.

Yeah I'm with you all on the Tubescreamers, the most overrated pedal ever. But I love nice gritty overdrives like the Fingerprint or the Arc Flash that can do fuzz. And the Les Lius clone I built has awesome tones within. And boosts do have their uses. I built a EP clone with tone switch mods. Use that as a master vol for my pedal board.Uncle Grandfather wrote:yeah i'm on the fence about boost pedals, i'm not looking for anything to replace what I already use and they ARE useful if not inspirational.Chankgeez wrote:I don't really like Tubescreamers or overdrives either.

Edit. Forgot to mention the Hot Cake in my list of nice overdrive.

Lpb-1's frequency response depends on the impedance of your pickups and how it loads them.
Music out on all streaming services and bandcamp and what not.
