If you guys need some droney ambient meditation this morning check out this little 7 minute exploration. Threw it together before coming to work today and i thought it was pretty neat.

Pulsing bass sound from folktek Matter into makenoise erbeverb. Melody is braids into 2hp Freeze into Folktek Conduit into intellijel Rainmaker sequences by malekko heavy industry Voltage block all into qubit mixology. The 2hp freez is really cool for this kind of stuff and is doing all the glitch and bit crushing sounds triggered by Varigate8+ as well as manually and sample rate manually changed.

Some cool stereo stuff from the erbeverb and rainmaker going on if you got dem headphones.

I'm getting a whole lot of GAS for an ER-301, but I'm worried that it'll take away from the immediacy and the experimentation vibe that I really like with the modular. Anyone here have one and can give input?

Ducking finally. Guess I can buy one now.

Ruiner has one, I'm getting mine in ~2 weeks.

I feel like a lot of people look at the ER-301 as a sampler but it can do so much more. It is a multi-function module and sound processor unit like no other. There is a lot of immediacy with the screen showing you exactly what's going on. Neil Parfitt has a series of like 20 videos explaining the various functions of it. It's expensive but looks really worth it.

I guess I can update more in a couple weeks.

Strange Tales said it. I haven't explored mine enough yet to give a fair assessment but i will say that you can create and save very detailed signal paths and functions rather than just saving loops that can be used at anytime which IMO provides a HUGE benefit for immediacy within tracks.

Also making me remember I really need to try out the grains feature, that looks awesome!

Yeah, those Neil Parfitt videos are what's really been getting me amped. I suppose I shouldn't worry so much since I've been planning on getting a Teletype as well, but I don't know, it's such a huge investment and wait time for something that I'm really unsure if I'll click with. At some point I'm worried that I'm just going to end up having (basically) a computer in front of me.

Considering the limited availability and interest around it I'm sure you could get most if not all of your money back if it didn't click with you

rainlet considering what the ER-301 can do I think the interface is just about right, it's a little complicated but I think it needs to be. And you can save your work so some things need to only be done once if you like.

You'll recoup the vast majority of your money back if you don't click with it. They sell IMMEDIATELY on Muffs. Shit, someone put two up for $825 and they were both sold within the hour.
