I don't think there's anything wrong with what you said. Maybe it was the approach others were turned off by? Who knows. I know I wanted to know what this was and not just have vague descriptions and random pictures. I hate build up like that because it creates a hype effect, which I suppose can be good for selling, but not always.

Also, I don't think Scott was trying to do that though. He just wanted to wait until when the product was closer to availability to let out a lot of detail. However I've seen numerous projects announced over my time on ILF that people got extremely excited for just to have them not released. Which stinks for everyone. Hell I was one of those people who announced a product and regretted it!

Can you build one that gives worms to ex-girlfriends and can it make a sound like SHIMMY-SHIMMY-WOM-WOM-ZIGGY-ZIGGITY-BLAMMO! And can you fax the schematic over for my approval and bring me a subway sammich I'm kinda hungry?

Also, Scott, please go over to the Gear Page and explain to dude there why you haven't built him a sub-200 polyphonic analog pitch shifter yet.

Anyway. Just clarifying. I'm not criticizing Scott for however he chooses to build, sell, or market his rocketship. I just want to know more, and a photo of a box of enclosures ain't feeding that beast.

I don't know, but I would assume that collaborating with another person means that getting all the plates spinning at the same time
is even that much more difficult than usual. This pedal has been designed by somebody else, with Scott designing the interface.

Since first hearing about this pedal I've been super curious, and I scoured the internet looking for clues about the pedal. Found some stuff.
But ultimately it's all conjecture and speculation until the pedal comes out. With a larger pedal producer I could imagine getting
impatient and antsy, but on a human scale it is pretty understandable that things sometimes take a while to come together.

The "potential of the new" is infinite. That new shiny object is the answer to all our prayers, the handsome pedal of our dreams. It will
make us a better person. It will sprinkle gold-dust on our carefully guarded, fragile yet genius endeavors.

And after acquiring any pedal it then comes down to looking yourself in the mirror and trying to figure out what you're really about.
Which, as a musician, is often an ego-bruising process. The infinite potential of the new is constricted by the finite parameters of our talent,
intent and abilities, as well as by our level of understanding and mastery of the tools we use. So I can understand the rabid interest in the new.

Until there is "news", I intend to update the firmware on my CT5 and play it more.

same here. I can't see the pictures.
hmm. ok here is the direct links to the photos so everyone feels included. I have no clue why some people can see it and some people not in the previous post, it shows up here fine.

that should work?

I really also don;t get commenting that some people only post in this or that thread. I am also pretty guilty of that and i have used this forum for about 4 years. Most of the sub forums i have never even looked at. So far no one has complained. I could start another forum somewhere else but Tom is a great guy and he offers this shark tank for pretty close to free/the general ilf crowd is banging. If anything the fact that there are people who have only posted in these threads indicates that at least some new users are becoming aware of ILF (through our products?), which i can't really see being a bad thing at the end of the day.

A forum is also my preferred communication for people asking questions instead of email because then the questions are answered publicly and it generally reduces the amount of email i get down the line. If that is not convincing you can also consider that large parts of the last two ct5 updates were suggestions from people that, as far as i can see, don;t post much outside of these threads, but everyone has agreed the updates are good so far.

anyway not to derail the thread too much from it's topic, much love to everyone who has been interested and helped me out over the last 2 years especially.

Nice! Thanks.

Your previous post showed up as a mirror-image for me:

Quoting that message led to two Google image links, both of which prompted me to sign into Google to view.
Thanks for photos. I feel updated.

@JWAR

I'm not offended by anything anyone has said, i would just prefer that there isn't an aura of exclusion because someone might not be a forum veteran.

Also remember these man? im talking about that pre acid splash jwar 2012 vintage ct5 action. coming soon.

I'll take this moment of peace and love to tell a little story. Scott, I emailed you this anecdote a few months ago.
I have a Ct5 and love it. Right?
Every now and then, one of my favorite musicians, Tim Rutili, who a lot of people know from Califone and Red Red Meat, comes through town playing small house-shows. He plays in my art studio here in Philly when he does this. He played in May, and when he was setting up, he says "oh I have to show you this amazing pedal I got." He opens his board up and there is a Count to Five. Same model I have. We both were kind of stunned that the other guy had the same thing. What, did you make like 250 of them? He uses it in his newest work (google "guitars tuned to air conditioners") and used it all night in that show.

Made me really happy.

when TTNG came through they stopped at a friend's house so another buddy could do some guitar work for em and one of the guitarists was super ecstatic about this crazy pedal he wanted to show and it was a grey ct5

Did you solder those boards yourself or get them shipped pre-soldered? I don't know how large scale SMD shit works and if you can do that (get it pre-soldered).

Yeah, TTNG and Ct5 seem kinda chocolate/peanut-butterish....
