Yeah I got one of those DIY kits for the ILF Secret Santa and it is totally beyond fucked up sounding. I've never gotten a sound out of it that could pass as "normal".
What I really like is the guitar volume interaction. You can work that shit like some kind of sonic death theremin on the fly.

Dr. Tony, might I ask what size of enclosure you used on this? It sort of has that Jerms look, so I'm wondering if it's a 125c or 2090 kind of thing. I'm hoping to do a Superfuzz in the next few months and this looks like it could be a really cool choice.
Saw your post with the analog delay as well...nice! FYI, Madbean is redesigning the Aqua Boy as we speak. There will be a basic version, a deluxe version with modulation, and a modulation baby board like you used here. Were you able to get MN3005s for yours?

what is that circuit based off of? its not tim escobedo's q&f is it? ive never seen such a simple looking resonant lowpass filter.

It's actually a bandpass filter. Semi based on Craig Anderton's Anti-wah
