One thing that is worth checking in almost every patch at some point is "how much can I remove from this while keeping it relevant to what I want to achieve". Just like with many other things, you can end up with something better after removing unnecessary things. Even if it does sound good with these, it might be even better without.

I just did that by selectively removing different voices from a patch until I just had the main thing running (still kinda complex, though), and it does indeed seem like a refined version of what I had before.

So, alternatively : when you're done with a patch, remove everything except what contributes to one element of the patch and rebuild from that. This can be a nice way to make things evolve smoothly.

+1. I've done that to deconstruct patches and it's definitely helped me learn some stuff :thumb:

Behndy I got the bag of cables. Thanks so much man, saved me some cash to put towards finishing my rack. I actually bought a Circadian Rhythms and am working on getting a Conduit and Clouds to finish me up. Think I'll be outta space after these three all show up so I can finally actually use my rack.

I had a ton of help from my uncle (Patrick Leonard if anyone's on IG his shit is sick) and my cousin with picking shit that suits my needs. I haven't even powered it up yet because I told myself I wouldn't turn it on until it's the fully functional instrument I want.

Next week or two it will be time.

i really love the vocal/vowel section of Braids, hit up someone that builds uBraids because SIZE MATTERS. is there any other modules that do similar vocal noisies?

Dude, Patrick is your uncle?? That's so cool! He makes some incredible music. Congrats on finishing the case! I'm wanting the Circadian Rhythms now as well since Patrick got one actually and posted about it.

I have a DIY Braids already. I'm most stoked on the Braids and the Folktek stuff. This rack is all space accounted for. I'll eventually put together another 6U of shit and move it all into a 12U. Might put the whole Mescaline system in there too. I'm not fickle with synth stuff like I am with pedals so I don't foresee a whole bunch of trading or selling.

Time will tell but I think with the rack I put together I will be happy as a clam until Mescaline shows up and I can't stand having that stupid little thing next to the rack.

Im really happy that I decided on Tempi over a gate sequencer module because its absolutely amazing for creating polyrhythms. It's really awesome as a modulation source, too. I was just sending 9 against 8 into the Mysteron, then phase shifted one of them slightly to get this tumbling waltzy quality that never quite resolves

niiiiiiceee!

i've been having a lot of fun running more steady beats into modules, then stacking outs from the Riot Trigger and playing with weird divisions.

Ahh thay sounds great. The Trigger Riot is something im super curious about but its pretty large. How easy do you find it to program rhythms on the fly?

SUPER easy. and i haven't had the time to dive in as much as i need to.

there's a sequence section then you can add clock divisions to that, super quick to swap between pages, just a single click.

LOVE it.

lol. but. yeah. it's HUGE. but it is super hands on FUN TIMES.

murrrrrrr......... sooooooooo.........about to order a PitsMod Structure 208 i think. it's their portable 6u 204 hp rack. the Make Noise skiff is BOSS, but i...... i am CONSIDERING trying to learn how to play solo shows out with a smaller 2 row modular case.

so if anyone wants a MN skiff in the next week or so, hit me up?

also, i'm learning how freaking useful Stackables are. before i order some more, is there anybody else that makes the same style cable besides TipTop? why. WHY are they so EXPENSIVE?

Pretty sure they have a patent/monopoly on that design.

Tiptop has that design patented I'm pretty sure. There are other "stackable" type, like Erthenvar's, but they're different in design.
