Not so much a pedalboard, as a bunch of pedals spread out across the floor

Never used any of those pedals but I think. Would be very happy with that board!

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Thanks dude. Definitely more full on, I don't blend in the dry signal I mostly use it for jarring bursts of noise to fill spaces in riffs etc. Another thing I like it for is making interesting song endings and stuff by e.g. looping something on the timeline then getting down and using both hands to swell in noise whilst fading the loop out. There's a lot of things you can use it for if you get creative I guess.Eivind August wrote:That is a sweet board indeed! How do you usually apply the Sandstorm? Full on noise freak-outs or more as a background ambience thing?

Just realized we have the same modulation delay. And we both use it on bass! EEEEE!

That's my gigging/recording board for guitar actually, but i reckon it sounds wayyy good on bass too. I love the TimeLine to death but it doesn't even come close to copping that bright wackiness of the DML.BitchPudding wrote:Just realized we have the same modulation delay. And we both use it on bass! Yea, the DML is fucking crazy. I have it relatively subdued for my purposes but it sounds so good. Cuts really well in a band setting too.backwardsvoyager wrote:That's my gigging/recording board for guitar actually, but i reckon it sounds wayyy good on bass too. Speaking of...

Just put this together. The latest version of my quest for a board that sounds good with both guitar and bass.
Ill be more descriptive since I have a free moment....
Whammy: For the obvious Whammy things.
Guitar: I mainly like to use the top Harmony mode to add a little simmer to delay laced guitar textures, or use it for organy harmonies. Of course I also use it for the typical pitch shifting, but usually only on certain parts of my songs, with the exception of "/0" where the main riff is based around Pitch Shifting like crazy.
Bass: it gets the most use since I play leads with my guitarist. Pretty much have the thing set to +2 octaves all day erry day. Max lightning bolt vibes yo.
And here we get to the meat of the board, lost of different types of dirt for various tones.
Dirge Soda Meiser Copy w/ chaos toggle:
Guitar: It gets used in combination with the overdrive for some QOTSA octave up gated fuzz sounds.
Bass: So far, this is the only pedal I haven't been able to have work for bass. Mostly cause I haven't written a song on bass that uses it yet. I have on my band is working on where it might get used, I just have to try it out.
Rouge overdrive:
For Guitar and Bass this thing is my secret sauce. It adds a really nice compression to my other dirt boxes and makes them sound more alive and fuller. And to think it only cost me $5 online.
Dirge Rose Ssstampede:
Custom built Ssstampede I had Skully build me. Gloom/Ssstampede switch, diode toggle and on/off for the photo eye to control the feedback loop (which can be activated via stomp switch).
Guitar: My main fuzz for all my guitar work. Hauls so much more ass than my old big muff used to with a lot more tonal options available. Nice and big on its own, fucking monstrous when stacked with other things.
Bass: Also my main dirt tone for bass. Adds some grit and chug without losing low end. Perfect for my unorthodox style of playing.
Ibanez DML10:
One of the best delays I've ever had the fortune of falling into my lap. This little pedal has been a part of my sound for almost as long as I've been playing and is all over most of my albums. It also cuts really well in a band setting, gets really sharp, which I at first disliked by now enjoy.
Hyperion/Ruiner Clone w/ Starve:
Brought this back to the board after watching Aen's demo of the new ruiner on bass. I've only used it on bass so far, but it sounds really synthy and fucked up, sustains for days as well. Plan on getting a lot of use out of it. Also the beginning of the "fuck everything" half of my board. The other half being....
Dwarfcraft Secret Destroyer:
Great Destroyer circuit with an extra gain stage added by an ILFer. I use it as a sort of super noisy touch sensitive tremolo. Makes everything sound like a broken cellphone with the way I have it running. It also really likes to eat whatever gets tossed at it, hence its new place at the end of the chain.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this. Lots of variety in a compact size. Perfect for upcoming gigs and just in general making a ruckus. Cha. Big noises.

What do you mean by static detune? Like, harmonisation, but microtonal?backwardsvoyager wrote:Man I loved the cosmichorus but eventually I figured out that I prefer static detune to modulation, and the Polytope is the ULTIMATE detune pedal. It's not swirly it's more metallic and alien-sounding, and that filter knob makes it soooo good on bass cos you can dial lows out of the wet signal to reduce that overpowering 'beating' when the low frequencies are duplicated at close pitches. Also the detune range is like a couple of semitones so it can get really crazy. Totally recommend it.

Yes indeed! I lurked for a few days and thought I might learn a ton from hanging around here on a permanent basis. And probably get GAS way more often...Eivind August wrote: UglyCasanova: You came!

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Yeah, it doubles the signal and shifts the wet path in pitch. You can blend in up to 4 detuned voices (2 up 2 down) which relate to each other based on how you set the detune knob and range switch. You can modulate the pitch for chorus/vibrato sounds too.goroth wrote:What do you mean by static detune?
