Found a pair of eminence big bens for 125 bones. They sound meeaaan. Im actually currently looking into having a custom 200 watt kt-88 powered slave amp.

Those Emperor cabs look more badass every time I see them.

I've got one of those big bens, huge sounding speaker!!!! Perfect for something high gain like the VHT. Hmmmm a 200watt kt88 powered slave amp eh???? A man after my own heart, please tell me more....

yea generally speaking its like taking the back half of ur amp possible minus the Class AB2 coupling out of it to achieve full power 200W. Cathodynes are nice sounding but lack voltage swing and generally cant output as much power into a 50k load as a long tail pair could

in theory it is not, generally speaking to achieve a true 200W you need to design it properly using proper voltages. The cost comes in from the iron, usually has to be top quality shit.

I can give u a design to use if you want, with transformer recommendations

Id be fine with just 120-150 as long as lits kt88's and runs a pair of 8 ohm cabs i dont care much more than that.

oh shit then its much cheaper and simpler. If you wanna stay simple enough the PT would need to be like

400-0-400 # 500 mA (or more current which is better)
6.3V CT @ 10A (or so)
100VAC Bias tap

and any nice overrated OT with a 2k - 2.2k primary.
