In the midst of a grey(screen ILF) weekend, the local CL comes through in a big way. IN:
The VFE Echo Oche: custom bumblebee (slow gear clone + optical compressor) > blueprint modulated delay.

B-stock Polytune 2 in today. Musician's Friend must have had the price listed incorrectly on their website, because they're now charging $30 more than I got mine for a few days ago.
And you would never know it's a restock. I'll be glad not to accidentally mute my bass in the middle of songs anymore!

I lusted for that, badly since the teasers in 2012...yet my GAS for fuzz has surprisingly waned as of late.
...Cept for an original Ge Fuzz Face, but that's a faint dream for my richer future self
In other news...I now have 3 DMMs. BRB, time-traveling.

duuuude that's awesome. I used to own both those pedals separately but at different times, that must be an awesome combo.
VFE stuff is pretty good IMO. The blueprint is one of the nicest sounding digital delays i've tried.

Sweet!
I have the bumblebee and it's awfully difficult to dial in, but it's good.

yeah I thought it sounded really cool but the range on the trigger knob was sooooo hard to set for consistency. i bet using it as a compressor into the blueprint would sound awesome as well.

sweet! now that's a demo i'm looking forward to

i saw the dude play a noise show recently and he had a stand set up with every LAL pedal. never had so much GAS in my life.

Yeah! The delay is pretty great! I like how the oscillation slowly builds up rather than just immediately blowing out, and setting the mod low but fast gets this great warbly trem sound.

I am having the hardest time since I never use compressors and haven't ever used a swell effect (usually using knob or foot pedal) before. It takes a lot of finesse!

Is that the one that has some weird/cool secondary mode thing it does? Think I watched a demo not too long ago, but it didn't really show much.

Nah, it's a swell effect and a compressor in one. The compressor is fairly noisy, and is extreme as hell. Up to 25% of the travel on the sustain pot gets you "normal" compression. Everything else is just massive squash. The compressor itself is kinda not very useful, but combining it with the swell works pretty well to get those big swelled sounds. So even though it's theoretically two fx in one it is more like a complementary effect to the main show - the swell.

Re-GAS: My Flashback X4 has already been repaired, after I shipped it Saturday, and is en route home. The third footswitch became unresponsive, but they replaced all four in one go. I miss the 2290 sound and looping.
