Hmm, dunno, it sounds a bit clean to me maybe and I miss a bit of depth especially in the bassdrum, with the many layers the sound gets a bit clodded too.
It does seem to sound better than what a buddy of mine is getting out of the DSI Tempest but for fat beats I think I'd rather go with the Jomox XBase09 I if this video is any form of reference for the actual sound.

OK so I talked myself into getting another DMM...and wound up negotiating for 2...1 from the 70s and another early 80s unit.
One is Howard Davis modded...really excited to hear that one in particular.
In fact I cant wait to try all 3 together and compare!
I didn't even get the one I first looked at and intended to buy, a 4chip 90s model. Go figure.

I have just sent the 50% down payment. With the current exchange rate it's actually even cheaper than more boring guitars.
