Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I finally finished building my 4ms SMR and it was enough troubleshooting to want to throw all of my soldering equipment away. (I'm building another uBraids this weekend though)
Jesus that thing makes fantastic sounds though. I am so close to being a generic IDM loser.

Nice colours. I find that cables colours are actually more important for the look of a modular (if that's something that's important for you) than panels materials

Anyone currently using the Circadian rhythms? I've heard whispers from my uncle, who is pretty prolific in the modular works, 5that it is the end all sequencer.

I always wanted one, but never pulled the trigger. My current setup is way too small to even consider one.Antlerface wrote:Anyone currently using the Circadian rhythms? I've heard whispers from my uncle, who is pretty prolific in the modular works, 5that it is the end all sequencer.
Also, behndy, that's an awesome track! You're killing it with the modular!

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
heeeeeee nooooooooooo. i have like....... no concern........ at all..... about the APPEARANCE OF THINGS.oscillateur wrote:Nice colours. I find that cables colours are actually more important for the look of a modular (if that's something that's important for you) than panels materials.
jia. i picked my favorites that he uses for the main lengths. so will be primarily violet, blue and white. and i have a bit of the hot pink MN cables that i just..... i just can't get rid of. SO SEXY.
but like. i DO have a bag of about 30 or 40 (too lazy to count) patch cables of different lengths. anybody just starting out that needs some cables?
dooooooood i want one. but would have to go to a bigger rack. which, i am just getting my head around this setup, but i think i would REALLY like a 15u rack. 2 rows of control stuff on the bottom flat, then 3 rows of noise/modulation loots? yeahhhhhhh. that's..... that's something i'm going to look at. eventually.Antlerface wrote:Anyone currently using the Circadian rhythms? d'awwww! thank you suh! i am LEARNING NEAT THINGS. every time i plug up, a little something clicks. WOOT.MrNovember wrote:I always wanted one, but never pulled the trigger. My current setup is way too small to even consider one.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I've got a bunch of stackcables and while I like the yellow ones, the red and green ones are useful but look... meh. Still, I use them because they're useful as fuck.
My other main cables are light blue and white ones and the patched modular looks much more inviting to me now.
Also, especially for people who started recently and got a heap of cool modules : try to restrict yourself to just a few modules (2 to 4 maybe) for one patching session. This is super useful to understand different ways to make your modules interact without getting into the same "default" patching all the time. Limitations can be super stimulating.
I remember having tons of fun with a Maths, an Optomix and a Doepfer A172 Min/Max when I got my first batch of modules, for example...

I need cables. I'm rocking 10 3 foot stackables that are wayyyy to long for my little 6U. Trade-age?!? Behndy halp!!
I just got a Clouds, waiting to find a good deal on Conduit and then imma snap up Circadian I think. 6U almost full, time for a skiff.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
also, not trying to SPAM THINGS, but this -

on bt speakers or at home, sounds fine, on the speakers on my car it is way too bassy thuddy. can't hear much mid/highs stuff. should i be cutting some frequencies before uploading vids?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Maybe just do a little mixing before you upload? ie slight eq'ing and compression.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
jia. i mean, i just adjust levels of different tracks. because i am mixing IG'NANT. but throwing everything through a compressor is not a bad idea.
also also, WOOT. GETTING CLOSER.
