Spent two and a half hours tweaking around with it just on the clean mode last night.

I feel you on that acid etching. I tried it once with some metal, and it did that violent reaciton like you said, completely freaking disolved, it was crazy!

I'm interested to hear how it stacks up to my ep-2. I know it's supposed to emulate the solid state ep-3, but I am really impressed with my Catalinbread tremolo and wanted to try out another pedal of theirs.

I've been curious about that one and the Echorec but I wonder, since they're all PT2399-based, whether the difference would be significant for me. Especially when I could go to someone like LaoWiz or Skullservant and go custom.

So I was etching these one after the other in the same bucket of acid (usually works fine). After about the 10th one, they start to get super heated. I figure, ok, well that just means they'll etch a bit faster. I was etching I believe 3 of them at a time. Trying to get them done because I was behind schedule. The acid reacted in an insane way I've never seen before (wish I would have filmed it). It started boiling, I shit you not, fucking boiling acid, spilling all over my garage floor. I got it all over my arms in the process of running out my open garage door and dumping the whole thing in the snow and shoving the enclosures deep into the snow to diffuse the acid. It was fucking NUTS. Hahaha. I learned to go slower then and got kind of scared. Main reason why I'm all laser. Not that one instance, but many like it. Acid is such an unpredictable bastard. Especially when you use the highly corrosive shit I was using.

Haha same thing happened one of the first times I tried etching. It freaked me a little, and made a huge mess on my front porch (permanently)

GC delivered my Delaylab today. It feels like it was designed by someone who doesn't play guitar.

- Why is it roughly the size of a barge?
- 6 AA batteries.
- Why are the jacks placed in the middle of such a wide pedal?
- WHY did they limit the looper functionality to 3 random delay types?


This thing is SO CLOSE to being a Timeline/Timefactor at a fraction of the price, but the execution leaves me scratching my head. Such a shame. (sounds great and it's totally worth $99 though )

Well the fact that it's a fraction of the price explains why it's not providing the exact same functions. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. That said, I like tones I've heard from the vox, but not enough to invest in experiencing it myself.

Fixing my problems with it wouldn't make it any more expensive to produce. It's all industrial design.

Actually, cutting the battery option would cut a buck or two out of the materials cost, which is much more significant than it sounds.
