Most B-15's in overall decent or better shape will go for around 1K or so...I saw a restored-by-the-designer B-15FN go for almost $1500 last year. One of the legendary amps, especially for the old-skool tone on Motown recordings and such.
Part of the Trace's pricing is that there are only 75 or so in existence and that, again, it's a noted tone-monster. I'd love to have either of them, but I'd REALLY love to get that Trace...closest I'll most likely ever get tho is the SS Trace head that I already have.

Daaaaaamn. My friend offered to buy it and I could pay him back, but the amp has already been sold.
Would have been cool. I think I was going to enjoy it for a few months and then flip it. That's twice this week I've missed gear on Craigslist!
But I was getting stressed out about the whole thing anyway, so I'm kinda relieved as well.

Not surprised with that price, and you've got a good friend there.

This in one of the reasons I hate Gibson. Right when these where getting put out is when they bought and gutted Trace. If they had been able to keep making these I bet they would have been right up there with the SVT CL in popularity, When I was able the afford my first good big amp this was the amp I wanted! but you couldn't find them, no one could get one, so I got a SVT CL, which severed me mostly well for 10 years. So yeah I would consider paying that IF I didn't have a 400+ the CL and a Orange

I've played thru a couple of the current Trace heads in shops, but somehow they just don't sound 'right' to me...dunno, maybe I'm being a vintage snob or something but my for-real British built '94 AH130SM sounds loads better when compared to the current stuff...IMO and all that crap...
If I ever hit the lottery or something, I WILL go shopping for a V8.

So the new ones aren't British built? huh... I think the only trace that I really remember playing through was one of the ones that had a big blacklight on the front... in... 96-97... I thought it was good but not my sound

When the new Trace came about I looked, saw no tubeses and lost all interest really

Website has a UK address and there's supposed to be a "...design office/workshop..." in Chelmsford, but I think the actual product is made in the Peavey (who now owns the brand) assembly plants, wherever those are...probably Asia.

Could be they seem to have plants everywhere...

Yeah,...that thing was priced to sell. I wouldn't be surprised if that was some old black lady living Norfolk's dead husband's amp.

PSH
Solid state is like the hottest girl ever, I mean she's all "oh behndy I have 1000 watts in my room, wanna come see?" and you're like "aw yeah" but then she's a cold fish in the sack.
And speaking of sack, fuzz through solid state is like that same girl except you find out she has a dick, so you're like "well goddamn this is all I've got so here baby, hold this fleshlight between your legs and we'll try to make it work"
or like "alright, just gimme your armpit and lets get this over with"
The exceptions are HA3500-tan and Sunn-chan, who are hot tomboys.
