I dont really know much about CIS or whatever but I was personally hoping that a band would finally tell noisey to fuck off because their coolkid huffpost groupthink is ruining fucking music.
Noisey: So let's get the obvious out of the way first: What have you three been doing for the past 20 years? I know that all of you have played in various projects here and there, but nothing too steady. If you would, please catch me up with your lives from 1994 until 2014; when you recorded 2 Ynfynyty.
Cherubs: No disrespect, but that question is just too hard. Here's a totally irrelevant relevant story instead.
I like how you snuck this in there. That album doesnt suck.D.o.S. wrote: Also they have mad love for yer boy Prurient I believe (even though I'm pretty sure that album kind of sucks).

Also everyone in this thread should buy that Cherubs record it's a gem:

Lovechild is fucking rad, my pop punk band played our last show with them and they're the nicest dudes doing cool shit.WORMDIRT wrote:https://whoislovechild.bandcamp.com/
Possibly my favorite HXC band of all time. Also Cerce was dope af.
This is a very valid criticism, not only of Noisey but all similar kindof-but-not-really-popular music news outlets. They write for a preexisting "hip" audience instead of writing what they want to and allowing the audience to come to them. This problem is exacerbated by the deplorable quality of the writing: any heavy user of this forum could write Noisey's articles with their eyes closed and one hand down their pants, from what I've seen. And they get paid for it.SPACERITUAL wrote:When was the last time any of those pennyloafer wearing herbs featured a band because they actually crush and not because they have something to say. Dont people get tired of constantly making statements and having statements made? It seems really exhausting.
Well, you gotta factor in the value of the hipster cred. "I write for Vice" has to have picked up some girl with rainbow hair at least a few times.D.o.S. wrote:LOL I think 'get paid' is an overstatement when it comes to Vice's writers and editors.
