Are the mittens to keep thumb sucking at bay?

I know that my wife didn't really get to hang out with her grandparents before they passed, but Hunter will get to grow up with his. They'll be in their 60's and 70's when he's in his 20's, that's awesome to me
That's rad, man.

Also... BUMMER that you had to go back to work today. Hope Mrs. Dirge gets lots of time off of work to spend with the lil dude.

The mittens were to keep him from scratching his face. They were like 10 little razors before my wife filed them down today. He us gloveless now. He got about 3 deep scratches on his face when the mittens fell/came off.

Luckily my wife is off for 5 more weeks with him before she has to go back to work. I wish I had more time off, but since I started my new job I didn't have any time saved up to be able to take an extended period off. I actually lucked out with my wife being induced on Monday because that allowed me to have 9 full days off with Her and Hunter because otherwise I would have just had part of a week off.

Tonight I'm up in PA overnight. Sucks that I have to be away overnight, but the day went fast. I'll be home tomorrow which will be nice. I have a feeling a full nights sleep will do me some good. Thank God for face time.

I had a baby girl 3 months ago, and it's been a battle to keep her from scratching up her face. The first family photo shoot I did was right after she did a real number on herself, and so I spent extra time in Photoshop cleaning up all the little cuts. Mitts are a necessity for a lot of babies. My kid's nails grow super fast, so we have to cut/file them all the damn time.

Anyway, I wish you and your family good fortune in all things. Having good luck and a few breaks here and there is as important as working hard, in my experience. So I hope you catch all the breaks you need, because I know you'll be working hard. :joy:

Thanks dude, it really means a lot. My wife filed down his nails the other day but they seriously already grew back. It's insane.

Was able to finish up work around 12:45 yesterday and spend the rest of the day with my wife and Hunter so that was really nice. Hoping to be home by 5ish tonight which will be nice too. Work has been insane busy but I'm trying to make the most of everything

I hated cutting tiny baby finger nails. I was so afraid I would cut their fingers (and I totally did at least once per kid).

Enjoy the days now. They go fast!

Ah man, I remember doing that to my son the first time, I felt like the worst asshole ever. Ever.
He screamed and I had to put a tiny band aid on his finger and, man, did that thing bleed.
He was pretty tough though, he got over it once there was some dinner to be had.

Those days do go fast. Not long ago it seemed like it was just he and I against the night when my wife went back to shift work.
Now he's four and my daughter is two and she turns the night into screamfest....because that's what two year old girls do, apparently.
Cannot wait until this phase is over.
But man. Time gets away.

We have successfully clipped his fingernails a few times now! He is gloveless. We also didn't want him to not know how to use his hands after a month of wearing the gloves so we took them off. He's such a good little man. I can't believe he will be 7 weeks on Monday
