Yeah, that shit was uncalled for. But that's like disregarding the genius literature of Knut Hamsun because he supported the nazis, or Joseph Conrad for being racist (according to Chinua Achebe). Good art is good art. That is not to say that anything since Machina has been good art.

True, but his comments say a lot about who he is, and I don't really like that.

I find it funny that I'm in any way defending Mr. Corgan but it's a case of age I suspect.

I don't get as worked up over stupid insults either but he's been throwing them at people for a couple decades plus now - just this time it hit close to home for a few folks.

I also don't think he grasped how far it would be taken in retrospect - keep in mind, again, age - older folks aren't internet saavy generally, and he's a sonofabitch who despite his stupid is a lot more tolerant than folks in his demographic usually are.

He also apologized if I recall.

I've been able to detach Melancoly and the Infinite Sadness from the dude just by accepting that Corgan today is bot the same man that made that album. Mostly cause that album aaved me from some dark stuff in high school.

But its still a shitty thing for him to say. At least he apologized i guess. Never really saw that.

my corgan story, quick version - went to one of the residency shows in ashville after they reunited (half the band)
billy acted like a fucking baby, hes a fucking baby, his attitude is shit, and i grew up worshiping this man, add in all the homophobic/transphobic/general assholeness/total shitty music for ages since the 90s and just fuck this man totally

I love Siamese Dream and rate it ahead of the overrated Nevermind, but Superunknown is superior to both in every way, particularly the songwriting.

Billy, please, do yourself a favor and stay out of the limelight until you figure out how to write new songs that are as good as the old ones.
