Brain farts are like digestive ones: you have to let one through every once in a while or the entire system is exploding. Like a fish when it stops swimming. True story.

I went vegetarian a few weeks ago, so you don't have to tell me.

Nice analogy though.

I've always been a veggie dude, so I'e actually been digging it so far. I'm not too big on stuff pretending to be meat though. Nut steak? Fuck that. Be proud of what you are and act like it, god dammit! :snax:

Nice! Loving the chicken head knobs! What PU's are those?

In general, I agree with you, but dude, black bean burgers are the fucking bomb.
You gotta try them if you haven't already.

No idea what the pickups are, haha.
I just know the guy put this together himself.
The matching headstock is so sick.

I've had some black bean soft shell tacos. That's sort of like acting like minced meat, no?

Looks absolutely badass no matter what the PUs are. I got a notice from my local gear dealer saying that they didn't have my VI in stock, and that I'd have to wait 7-10 days. A little bummed out that I don't get to play with it much before uni starts up again, but I'd have to wait for all the other parts anyways... :grumpy:

I tried out a Fender VI today. Cool tones, looked great, I could see myself having some fun with it. Only issue is that I'm pretty sure I lack skillz to make the most of one of these things. I'll have to give it another run through or two one future visit to the shop and see if I change my mind. Or maybe I'll try to practice more.

So what are everyone's favorite effects to use with Bass Vi? Do you feel like anything really shines on this instrument compared to a normal bass or guitar? Any specific Fuzzes?

I'm planning on using fuzz (duh), generous amounts of reverb and delay, and various pitch shifting effects. Analog octave down and maybe a whammy. I'm imagining vibrato and tremolo would sound pretty great too.

D'Arcys video was a really good example of effects use on bass vi. More like that plz.

I love the Eventide reverbs of the Space (or H9). Since I have a Space and an H9 (soon to be just two H9's) on my board, running two of them together is really nice. I love the piano-like cleans of the VI's and deep, luscious reverb really plays well with that. The Moog Ring Mod is really cool with that as well. My favorite fuzz for mine is the Twosome. I really like running both fuzzes together, setting one up for smooth muff like fuzz and the fix'd fuzz for nasty, spitty sounds and then running them together for something really huge and nuanced. I like slow, sustaining, self-modulating sorts of fuzz with my VI. High gain chuggy stuff hasn't been very successful for me, that's why I was thinking of adding the Ibanez M80M to my arsenal since it's essentially the same scale length as a VI just with two extra strings.

I really, really like a Foxx Tone Machine with my Bass VI. The VI sounds killer through a Harmonic Percolator as well.

I love tremolo with mine, and the carbon copy/rv3 seem to be the perfect match. I picked up a driving notion in the infanem sale, and I'm considering a Moog MF drive also, but currently I use an OCD and a mini supercollider and they're alright? not really what I'm looking for in regards to dirt pedals though.

No, I'm sorry. You're gonna have to sell it to me. :D

For real, I am so jealous of that thing.

I think the Driving Notion is gonna sound killer on bass vi. Its so tweakable, there's no way you wouldn't find a good sound.
