phantasmagorovich, you should read the English language books in English.

I recently reread Farīd ud-Dīn ‘Attār's The Conference of the Birds. The translation was horrible. It made me want to learn Persian just to read it in it's original language. I wish I spoke more languages so I could read someone like Hermann Hesse in German. Would be nice. Things really are lost in translation.

i read about 60 pages into this then google books was all like K SORRY UR PREVIEW IS OVER

so pissed. i love connell. also this book is really weird and interesting.

Unfortunately books 5-7 (and there's and 8th now also, but I'm not up to that) aren't nearly as good as the original 4, but they're still decent. The original 4 I consider classics of Fantasy.

jia. i read LOADS of comics. i always wait 'till they come out in trade paperback though. there is NO WAY i'm going to put aside the storage space for singles. i already have all my bookshelves loaded down....... since i went to a Kindle graphic novels and tech manuals are all that i have in paper format.

fuck. FINALLY got through the first 4 books in the Ice & Fire series. a few pages into Dances With Dragons and so happy. Daenerys is so my favorite character, and it looks like it's going to be loads of her.

lulz. 'kay, i don't have NEAR as much space as Big Pimpin' Jfry's dedicated to books (DAYUM SON), that is AWESOME. but, the space i do have... is crammed full of graphic novels. i love books, always have, am surprised at how it feels the same reading on a Kindle as holding a paperback in my hands. very cool.

BlindToTheSnow - yah. i keep meaning to DL that and check it out. never watched any. i've been a huge fan of the series since it came out, it just takes him so damn long between books. be great if he'd live forever, but going to be super bummed if he doesna finish it before he passes.
