Seriously though, there was only a few people posting regularly towards the end, so I'm not entirely surprised. I'll miss it though
I'll get over it :whateva:

I've lurked ILF for a while now, seems like a pretty great community :hello:

Welcome :)*

I started on Devi's old forum back in the day, then it became ILF, and when Devi broke off, I just kinda stayed here. But it's all good. We're all one big messy incestuous family :)

I don't know what one could expect...this forum is pretty slow compared to the others that people frequent for gear. Then you secede and expect it to be popping. 85% of that was "What pedal should I get" which is fine, but that's how it's setup. People research your pedals and see you're still available to talk and they signup for the board and ask the question and then go away...or just search it...and when your threads and post may or may not be there the next day you find no point in posting.

maybe its just due to the inactivity? :idk:

occam's razor and stuff.

...

video makes sense i guess. kinda sad, but understandable... ish. too many outlets that do the same thing just sorta gluts up. i think thats why it seems bands either consolidate their news on facebook, twitter, or myspace, or they use something that does a couple of those at once.

hopefully devi claus will drop by for some christmas pie :snax:

Replay107, welcome...

as some of us agreed, there is a piece of wisdom you need to remeber to be happy on ILF...

Welcome... just don't take yourself too seriously

 / :whateva: /

To the curious:

Rose has been rebanned, due to being permabanned, creating tons of alt-emails, alt-IPs, and alt-users, and every time--sooner or later--creating drama and trying to settle scores that don't really exist.

To coming clean:

It's TRUE that I suggested Rose check into a mental hospital. This was after being threatened that "I'd been given many chances before something bad happens," and after about a dozen ranting Rose emails (all from different addresses, with fake subject lines), telling me how completely evil I was for banning someone with mental issues.

I was also told that I get joy out of bullying the mentally handicapped and probably old ladies too (in my defense, I almost never abuse old ladies, though I do make sure they are mentally handicapped first).

I am a maniacal tyrant who bans, locks, and deletes everything I disagree with. Also, Rose is still the only user I've ever banned, and ILF sees maybe one locked thread a year, and between 0-2 deleted posts a year.

To the board:

I'm sorry for the clutter and occasionally hard-to-follow threads on ILF. There's a lot of in-joking here, and it's home to a lot of people who treat ILF like their home. They might occasionally pick their nose, put their feet up on the ottoman, or bang on pipes in the basement. (Or start posting random silliness when people start drama.) But you're welcome to do the same, as long as you're not a dick. Though it's okay to pretend to be a dick sometimes.

My tendency to NOT delete threads or posts simply if 1) I see they're headed downward, or 2) they make me uncomfortable, is exactly what resulted in this thread getting somewhat out of control (whether with drama, insults, or just becoming impossible to follow). But unless it becomes majorly necessary, I'm going to continue to err on the side of not moderating issues of taste/tastelessness, opinion, etc. The main rule on ILF is don't be an asshole.

Also, if you're sane enough to be a complete asshole, then you're sane enough to be called a complete asshole.

one can only expect so much out of a situation based on hero worship of a character one portrays that does not allow that one to progress as a person. Especially when progress is what that one talks about achieving, while at the same time forbidding the open discussion of that one or that one's previous actions. A fear of the self and what others think of it, masked in double standards and furthering the assumptions made by acting out the things one wouldn't tolerate.
John Bradshaw is an idiot but makes excellent points in Bradshaw on: The Family, that I think could use Devi as a prime example. Especially regarding the false self and the illusion of progress.
basically I guess to put it into non-douche terms, if everything you do is "for the lulz" dont get angry, pissy or throw a tantrum when others do the same.
