There's a lot of reasons you could have for using a cap of that size, can't say for certain without the schematic. My best guess would be that the circuit works best at a very specific current and the cap is there to regulate it when the battery get's low.

Yes, you should.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BTW.
I meant to start a birthday thread yesterday. It was Ryan's birthday too.
Buy the pedal and eat some pizza.

Thanks! I actually sent Ryan an email to see if he had any of this finish left (I'd definitely rather give Ryan the money than some random duder on the interwebs). I don't have too much hope, though, where he said they'd sold out of this finish.

What's it say, 2200 @ 25V? It's an enormous size because of the MASSIVE capacitance. most electrolytic caps at 25v are tiny in the 1 - 220uf range which is what is
normally seen. It's the value he needed, and that value is fucking enormous. Conversely, a 10uf cap at 350v is a similar size.

It says 2200. I can't believe the pedal was working with no battery!

That's actually a REALLY good cab. I built a super simple 40106 synth, the one on beavis, and had it grumbling at a really low freq. and it sounded fuckin gnarly through that cab. The head was an old 400RB, and those are like 150w, so that's saying something.
