A pic from Emperor Dylan of my Vert 2x12 cab progress. Pairing this one with my Ampeg gvt15H head with the 70's grill

I cannot believe I used the word "wowza" just a couple of hours ago.
Wait, did I make it clear that the eq and gate are on the effects loop? It's a fucking sick amp. Ideally, what single 8 ohm cab would you recommend with it?

Re: Let's see your AMP!
Ampeg VT-40!

At some point it's been modded to have a master volume, probably won't get a ton of use out of that as I bought it as a clean platform for pedals, but it is nice to be able to get some good tube distortion going at a reasonable volume. It's also been modded for 6550 power tubes, presumably back when the 7027s were out of production for a while. And it came with the original reverb footswitch, which I understand can be hard to come by. I haven't had much time to play with it yet, so I'm still getting used to the tone options (especially the three position midrange switch).

And here's my old Mesa DC-2. I bought this new, so that means I've had it for quite a few years now. It hasn't gotten too much use over the last couple of years, it sounds pretty good but really I mainly keep it around because it has a headphone output which is occasionally handy (and I like having two amps around).

That's a damn good deal. Is anything wrong with it? I have thought about picking one up.
The chorus/vibrato doesn't work (I'm not a big fan of chorus/vibrato anyways) And channel two is kind of spotty in general, but will work if you smack the top of the amp a few times. Oh and only one speaker works at a time. Channel one works fantastically though! So yeah it's pretty rough but still sounds amazing.
I'd clean out all of the pots, as well as the pcbs. That could make a huge difference.

I would say a Super Reverb w/ Master volume. My old man has one, sounds absolutely killer. Use a hollowbody, crank the gain, pull the mid-boost, and you get instant Black Keys tone. Sustain and feedback for days.

Ding, ding. 1975 Super Reverb. Sounds so sexy both with my Casino and '72 Tele Deluxe RI.
