Things are good man. We got out of the hospital on Wednesday. It's funny because on Monday when my wife was induced, it was 70 degrees and sunny outside. When we were discharged, it was low 30's and snowing.

We had Thanksgiving on Thursday and it turned out to be a long day/we definitely all overdid it. The tone of the day started with us having to remove his circumcision bandaid and it getting stuck and bleeding. After we got the bleeding to stop (only took a few minutes, but felt like forever) he was just fussy the rest of the day, which is unusual for him because he's usually SUPER quiet.

My mom came over with my stepdad and had brunch with us Thursday which was nice and relaxing. But then we went over to my in-laws for the remainder of the day and it was just exhausting for little dude because he ended up being passed around between my father in law, mother in law, and grandma in law all night and I could tell that he just wanted to sleep. We all ended up passing out that night and he slept most of the night. In fact, we all did.

Friday during the day we had Hunter's first doctors appointment and it went well. He was such a champ, and the doctor said everything looked perfect. In the hospital right after Hunter was born, apparently they heard a murmur, but didn't tell us anything until Wednesday when they said they didn't hear it anymore. Would have been nice to know, but apparently it was just a temporary thing because they didn't hear one on Friday at all. But he was so calm during the appointment, and the doctor said he looked so good that we didn't need to come back until he was 1 month old, which really just seems like it is for him to get a few shots.

My dad came up with my grandma and grandpa who got to meet Hunter on Friday, they hung out for about 2 hours. That was all we did on Friday. Friday night around 6 my wife and I wanted to go to the store to pick up a few things, so we went to put Hunter into the carrier and he started screaming bloody murder, so we took him out and tried to sooth him. He ended up crying for 6 hours straight and we realized he hadn't pooped in about 20 hours and that his tummy was really starting to hurt. We tried everything that normally would make him relax and go to sleep, but to no avail. I did end up soothing him to sleep for about 40 minutes after my wife looked at me and said 'plug your guitar in and PLAYYYY'. Tuned to AADGBE and droned out with loops on my El Capistan which he enjoyed enough to get some sleep before waking up again and screaming. Then I remembered that our own Sonny had told me about these gas drops which were life savers if anything like this happened. So at 10:30pm I went out to the store and found them and rushed them home. We just gave Hunter a few drops and he instantly stopped crying. He ended up pooping 3 times yesterday morning to make up for the day before.

Yesterday we went to the grocery store, and picked up my car from my inlaws since my dad gave my car an oil change and changed the brake pads. But that was it. Just stayed around the house relaxing and enjoying time together.

Today we aren't doing anything either. I really need to build at some point to finish up these last two pedals that have been on my bench, and we are going to watch the Ravens game, but those are the only plans that we have. I really, really, really don't want to go back to work on Monday. I can already tell it's going to be really hard. I have to do an overnight trip too which will suck. But I guess the bright side is I might pass out Monday night and get some uninterrupted sleep. I just don't want to leave home.

What a champ that Hunter hey, I can imagine you don't want to leave the house, a bit like a reversed mild leaving anxiety or something, just want to live and experience everything with him through and through...
I'm happy for you lot that everything went pretty well.

Yeah I'm getting kind of anxious here. Gonna make the most of today though, my last full day home. Luckily I can face time with my wife tomorrow night when I am away, and see his little face.

Man, I can only imagine how you feel about having to work on Monday. I feel bad enough leaving the dog at home so I can only imagine what you feel like.

Never got to say this, but congratulations! I have three babies and they are each a joy to me even though I want to smack them from time to time.

Being a father is probably the best thing I've ever done. Not trying to be all sappy, but it gave me a sense of purpose you know? Life without them was dull and repetitious. Now I see different things everyday because they keep getting older and older. Sigh. 9, 5 and 2. All girls too. hahaha. I'm going to have my hands full when they get older.

God I feel bad for MSU still though. Poor Bruce is going to have a mess in the teenage years. Unless he can somehow form a family band...hmmm....

As long as you feel ready, any time is a good time! You definitely don't seem too young, mainly judging from how stoked you seem
And as parents on the younger end of the spectrum, you get the added bonus of being cooler

I'm 32, so my first was at 23. I got married at 21. So I don't think it's too young. It's about what's important to you in life. To me family is more important than some bullshit career or going to school for 10 years. I wanted a family. It's what I've always wanted.

Plus if you have them early you can enjoy your later years in life.

Exactly! I'm stoked that both of our families will get to enjoy him while they are younger. His grandparents are in their 40's and 50's. That's awesome. I know that my wife didn't really get to hang out with her grandparents before they passed, but Hunter will get to grow up with his. They'll be in their 60's and 70's when he's in his 20's, that's awesome to me
