You can't hit shit with a sub compact. I guess that's why it's for conceal and carry. Good up to ten feet.
Need to practice more! I've shot a helium/propane tank multiple times from 50+yards with a lc9. Not ideal, but doable. You tried the glock 43 yet? I know it's the opposite of what you're wanting next but they have my eye for CC.

See the thing is I've practiced a LOT with this gun. I'm a great shot but not with this fucker. I did try the Glock 43 and it's much more accurate than the Subcompact. I'm not sure why. Maybe I should get mine looked at. The barrel could be warped or something? Who knows.

I'm deadly accurate with my 30 06. :) No scope. I watch the light glisten off the tip site and compensate for the kick. I've gotten really fucking good with it. For reference, my cousin, who is an excellent shot and I were out shooting. We had a stone angel that we put in a dog cage (don't ask lol) and went about 100 yards out. He had first go, shot at it twice and missed both times. I had my turn, and disintegrated that motherfucker in one shot. It was awesome. I'm a dick and used to shoot birds when I first got it (19 years old). :( Wish I never did shit like that, but it made me more and more accurate.

questions - i have a .45 for home and a .38 for the shop, was thinking about a 9mm for the smaller gun because more rounds. Cali you can't have more than 9 in a mag anyways i think, so a 9 full sized you lose the extra rounds bonus.

any suggestions on a smaller 9? so far the Kimber Solo and the Beretta Nono look neat, havna checked to make sure they're CA legal yet though.

meow?
I'm too lazy to look for what you ended up buying, but I have my eye on this: http://hk-usa.com/hk-models/vp9/
Glock 17 also very reliable. Will try a few sidearms with my cousin at the shooting range before I decide. 9mm/.38 are good enough for me.

My friend, a public officer, uses Beretta 92F, S&W 2" 38.

Hot Take:

I don't like guns, obviously, but this whole "we should keep people from the terror watch list from buying guns" that's being bandied about post-Orlando is fucking stupid.

Pretty fucking *unconstitutional*
The whole criteria for the watch list is so sketchy and subjective. There are no hard rules to narrowly apply, so at its core, it is BS to use that list as a basis for anything other than watching, and even that is a stretch.

Well, it's a knee-jerk reaction.

Obviously, keeping firearms out of the hands of the "wrong" people is just scratching the surface.

Just because you have the right to something does't mean that it's a good idea, and something written 230 years ago should be questioned and reconsidered in light of the world as it is now. Citizens owning automatic rifles is absurd to anyone watching from the outside. It's like you're in a cult and have completely lost touch with the world around you. To almost every other country in the world, the US is a fucking circus.

Well, that goes without saying. And part of it is due to our geography. It leaves us kinda isolated/insulated from things.

… and interpreting our Constitution is an entirely cray cray legal can of worms…

… and fully automatic weapons are actually difficult to obtain. The press often mistakes semi-automatic for automatic. :idk:

You're living in the 21st century. That might have been an excuse 70-80 years ago, but not any more.

Doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. Write a new one that makes more sense in the 21st century (like Iceland in 2010)

Semi-automatic is still fucked up. Especially in light of how easy they are to obtain and how respectlessly Americans use them.

I can't believe I'm posting on the internet about this shit because I avoid it like the plague, but guns aren't the biggest issue here. Things that are more important:

Mental Health Evaluation
Masculinity Culture (Hetero-sexuality, whatever)
Homophobia

Among other things.
