really seems like you'd run into problems with a name like ac/dc, copyrights and trademarks and lawyers and stuff. but fuck it, maybe i'll start a band and call it something interesting like "the rolling stones", or maybe "metallica". also, the original nausea is less likely to have an army of lawyers and shit, but it still seems weird that there's a band called nausea on there. but anyway, have fun. there's some cool bands on there.

I think they get around that because if pushed they just say their name is ACXDC.

The Nausea playing is the LA grind band from the 80s. http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Nausea/52921

Yea I didn't even notice him bitching about that. it's the same logo that they have always used. I have no idea someone would think it's not the original band unless they are pretty unfamilar with the band to begin with aside from passing knowledge.

I've only ever heard the "crust" Nausea, this other Nausea I only heard of recently in postings like this flyer. Looking at both bands info the crust band was active 2 years before the grind band (85 vs 87), they are also IMO alot more well known. So I'd say if I saw Nausea on a flyer, I would be expecting to hear them play Cyber God.....

well, i wasn't exactly bitching because i really don't give a shit, more just commenting. but i was thinking of the old new york crust band nausea. i didn't even know about the grind band. it makes a lot more sense if it's an old band though that was around at the same time. i'm pretty sure that the crust nausea is a lot more well known, but maybe not in all circles. but anyway, if they were around in the 80's, it's a pretty forgivable occurrence that the two bands wouldn't know about each other when picking names and you shouldn't have to change your name or something 25 years later just because one band got bigger, so i retract my comments on nausea.

I only knew of the grind one not the crust one.

have a show on August 17 in new orleans whenever I get back in town from working in North Carolina. oh yay.
