Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker are 900 million miles away from the dreck that SRV made. And pretty much all modern blues, for that matter. It's just so contrived and crappy. SRV has oodles and oodles of talent. I'm convinced even though he's still dead, he could still probably play better than me. However, I'm not a huge fan of his music. His Hendrix covers are amazing, but well, I'd rather listen to Hendrix

What's really weird to me is five days ago typing "freekish blues" into google would pull up all the controversy threads on HC and talkbass and whatnot, now it just pulls up a page of demos and their website. These guys apparently have enough cash to up their search ranking for pages they prefer.

Maybe Dweezil Zappa is helping him out, haha.
