PeteeBee, I think you'd actually have a great time with the No Coast, Clouds, and some kind of controller. You could add a bit more modulation to it as well. Something like Maths would give you a lot more options and utilities to learn.

awesome. Yeah that seems like a really fun, basic but not too basic combination. What do I do with the one module? Like whats the smallest rack I can buy

Go a bit bigger than you think you'll need just "in case" you want to expand by 300% immediately.

Yeah, there are very decent and not that expensive cases available now. Staying with Tiptop, the Mantis is a much better thing to get than an HEK for example.

What am I hooking up to and in what order before getting to the Sequencer?
Yeah that's exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks!! I think I need to go back and study / understand utilities better. I was skipping a few steps there with utilities and I was getting halfway there results. I'll probably have more questions when I repatch. I think I may need some more basic utilities rather than using something like Maths which I don't have my head wrapped around yet or using the envelope puts on the 4ms Multiband Resonator and stuff like that....

I think another way could be to just play around with your Sub 37, and then apply the stuff you learn there to the modular world. Break the 37 into the sections VCO, VCF, VCA, modulators etc.

oscillateur wrote:Seriously, pause with that for a bit. You have bought more in one month than I have in 3 or 4 years :). And I've been using semi-modular or software modulars for 10+ years.

Use what you have, see what you like, what you would like to do but can't (or don't know how to) and let that drive the rest of your modules swapping/acquisitions, rather than a list of cool things that will not necessarily be useful to your music.
Ruiner wrote:That's the plan and been the plan. It's my first time with modular, not with gear. ;)

Oh believe me I knew I was going about it the wrong way but it's the way I work

I'm happy with my selection so far just missing some utilities. I'm sure I'll sell and trade some stuff off after I get used to what I want but did the same thing with pedals and I enjoyed how I went about that so it's all good.... and yes, comical.
