you got it Ben! I chose that one because i've played Novation controllers before and I thought the build quality vs price point was decent. The internet tells me this one is even better than their older stuff! I bought one new on ebay for $250 shipped, thought that was a good price.
I plan to use this with Ableton and maybe other stuff.

it's a neat looking piece of kit. the thing that always made wubbly about the Kontrol.... controllers... is the endless knobs. super cool.
but that thing is HUGE.
oof. and i forgot how long it takes to install even just the 1/3rd of Komplete i use. had to take a break and go watch Her with some buds. which, while predicable ESPECIALLY IF YOU GREW UP ON RUDY RUCKER, was really good.

Pedals I picked up in Japan:
I'd played the White Elk before I bought it but hadn't plugged the Maxon or HM-2 in before today. Good news is they work just fine. Great news is, they're awesome. Really like the D&S muff sound and the HM-2 is a real surprise. Lots of good sounds in the high and low filters. Wasn't quite sure what to expect but so far I'm impressed.
The White Elk is pretty dang cool, too. Kind of but not exactly like a good Triangle muff. The tone control is reversed, too, which follows the original Elk design.
