I wasn't offended by anything you said. I was just sad for the chick in the gif. And I say stupid shit all the time too that offends people. I have been through a lot of personal tragedy, but not a lot of people know it. That's just life. Some people have all the good cards and some people always get dealt a shitty hand. But surprisingly enough I'm in a real happy place these days.

@alexa - www.centreofgravity.net. They're some pretty old tunes on there though - every time we're ready to book the studio we lose a bassist. No, I'm not kidding. Then we get sick of playing our old tunes which we've rehearsed the shit out of with the (new) old bassist, so we write new stuff. Book time at a studio. Then the cycle begins again. I guess where we are at now is um... yeah... pretty rhythm based (but not djent), thrashy bits, some nice melodies, some quiet bits, lots of fx, lots of mosh. We try and make our polyrhythmic stuff the kind of stuff that you can ignore if you want - just bang your head and have fun. Or you can try and count stuff and nerd it up. Maybe we want to make intelligent metal for when you're in the mood for drinking beer and listening to unintelligent metal. I dunno.

And man, we just want a bassist who'll come in and do his or her thing and just own shit. I'd prefer to have someone comfortable with fx (and especially fuzz) but if we got someone who just wanted to crank it out Lemmy style, or whatever I don't care. I feel our music is mostly about the drums and bass, even though it's written on a guitar and I guess in one way is kinda guitar-centric (in that there are a lot of riffs and counterpoints and stuff). Like Russian Circles. We don't sound like them, but that kinda relationship between the bass and the rest of the band, that's what I want.

Spunky I'm with you on the tweeter hate. Just stab them all with pencils and turn them into fuzz generators.


So I put up an add. First thing was "do you want to play with an awesome drummer". Second point was about being in a band where you've got the space to do the bass thing in our soundscape. We'll see how it goes. No replies yet... fuckers.

The recordings (to me) sound like a epic-metal vocal and trash metal guitar and drums
It's difficult for a bass player to get anything through with such dense guitar playing and sound, imo. Perhaps if you figure that out you'll have an easier time finding someone.
Regarding the recording, you could very well get by with a POG/bass VI.
