Getting one of these next week! Now I won't have to worry about destroying my speakers! :yay:
iiiiiii have been thinking about one of those too. got a bud that gushes about his.
I've been seriously thinking about getting either the fdeck or a thumpinator at some point. Maybe that will let me stop blowing up cabs.
ryan summit wrote:ok so what is that thing?
It's a high-pass filter to filter out subsonic frequencies. Most cabinets suck at reproducing anything below about 30-40 Hz, so there's no point in sending those sub frequencies to your amp. This box just cuts them out.
yah. my boy who has an Fdeck (the one i'd want) said he just dials it in so the tone is the same, then his amp is WAY louder 'cause it's not working to reproduce sounds it really can't.
I play out of guitar speakers, so it will be quite nice to not have to worry about them. Plus the one thing I don't like about being super loud is not being very clear, so I'm really excited about it! I'll tell you guys how well it works out for me.

how do you hook up that box? do you just plug it in last in the chain and run it into the input?

It depends on what you need it for. Some people run it at the beginning so it cuts bass before it hits pedals, some people run it in effect loops in amps, so people after effects like the xerograph. I will be running it at the very end, unless it sounds better somewhere else.

An upgrade of the vintage 60's GE Schaller fuzz, built of NOS parts, I sold my original some two years ago and have regretted selling it ever since. The upgrade has toggles for optional voicing (for low cut and high freqs, and for smoother, more traditional Fuzz Face style fuzz should it come handy in stacking) and I also asked for a smaller box to better fit it in the pedalboard.

Also, Langtronics Bone Collector. A lovely beast when I want to crazy as hell. Rude, gated square wave fuzz with a filter.

@ryan summit:
I think you can if i'm not mistaken, I had one but didn't really gel with it, in my opinion it's quite clinical and a bit thin sounding on guitar compared to the Small Stone but then again what isn't, I love the Small Stone.

@Bassus Sanguinis:
I saw that video yesterday, I like it, sounds a bit like an Ugly Face derivate maybe?
His Filthy Filter seems cool to me as well, kinda in the same ballpark with a bit more control maybe, it would be awesome if he'd made that one in a normal enclosure with an expression input.

So, a local band (Napalm Raid) just posted some pictures of their gear as they finish recording a new 7". This was one of the pictures posted:

Wounded Paw Black Sheep preamp. First prototype. Fuck me, I'm jealous as hell. I know he uses a T-40 and I've used mine through the regular Black Sheep pedal. This is going to be crusty as shit.

i just had a look at the manual online and it says you can use the exp. to either control the speed OR for manual sweep. which is cool!
i had the baby quasar for a while and really liked it but thought only 4 stages was a bit subtle for me so hopefully this works perfectly. the kayzer demo is tits.
