Oooooohhhhh...
But not with that nice big shiny knob then I suppose ?

I would assume not :(

That knob definitely was a selling point, but yea now that I think about it I have no idea how they're laying this out in 8 hp. They have like 10 jacks, 6 pots, 2 buttons, and a switch to fit on there. Sounds like it's going to be very crowded.

soooooooooo.......... Pam's is fucking amazeball. so fun. just her into BI Alter is silly good.

but running one of the clocks into the Beatstep Pro's click in i'm getting it controlled at 1/16th of the tempo on the Pam's. not sure what i'm doing wrong. i have the expander with the MIDI and Dinand /4, x1, x2, x4 outs, running the x4 out is still a quarter of the speed as tempo.

murp?

Check yr PPQN settings, that's usually what people point to although I've read most people don't have problems out of the box.

yur. just tried that. at 24 PPQN it's 1/16, 48 it's i THINK at 1/32 of tempo, and at 1 Step it's at 1/4. which, i mean. i can work with easier? but still not ideal.

but. a BIT better.

Either use the midi connectors or set BSP to 1 POQN and use the x4 output on the Pam's expander. If that's still slow use one of the outputs on Mew Pam's and multiply it by whatever works while you take a minute and read the manual.

hurm. the BSP just has 24 and 48 PPQN. then "1 Step". but, yeah. running the x4 gate on the expander into it works fine. it'll do until i figure out if that's how it's supposed to be. haven't tried clocking anything else yet.

also, thanks for pushing me into buying the Pam's. so GOOD.

playing around with the BI Alter and Warps a bit -

I love all the trashy drum modules too, but there are so many. Modules like the Plague bearer and Great Destroyer are also great for harshing up the weak shit.
The Trogotronic 669 and 679 have me pretty well covered for filthy oscillators/ripping noise sources, but I still want a Muskrat, and maybe one of those Beast Tek VCOs too.
And of course the Plonk, that thing is going to sell out fast.
It's in a different kind of category though...from that plucky/tappy karplus strain that's been in bloom lately, MN Mysteron, AD Proton, etc.
The Proton especially seems to be very under the radar, so I'm getting more and more curious about it.

ugh. yeshhhhhh. Proton, Musktrat, the GMO..... Malekko's drum machine.... so many lusty trashy goodness.

man the BI Alter is versatile. kinda want a second one. going to play with trying something more pretty with it today.

...... so.... is the Beatstep Pro not suited to melodic stuff with modular? it's always WEIRD with things. dunno if there's a setting i can mess with, and i can get at Arturia but they take like a week to respond.

it just does ODD STUFF. like, with Rings, triggering from Pressure Points, every trigger is a full note coming out of Rings. but using a BSP sequencer pitch out into the v/oct of Rings, i can tap 8 times on the same note, like whole notes at 120ish bpm, and the first note will trigger, then nothing, nothing, really quiet note, full sounding note, quiet note, nothing...... hurmph.
